We stopped here for lunch cause I heard their Caesar salad was the . We ordered and it didn’t disappoint. The size was reasonable for the £15 price tag. We also sat outside in the terrace and cause it was the Queen’s birthday celebrations weekend we was treated to an air display of all the various planes flying in. Amazing… Now back to the food. I recommend getting the dressing on the side as the dressing is a tad thick and there’s lots of it so if your on a diet. That’s the best way to go. But the crispy bacon is the way to go. And cheesy croutons. Yummy!!! We also went for the Sicilian lemonade… A perfect combination to wash it all down south!

Harrods was extremely busy, but we found peace in this delightful restaurant. Service was the best we’ve experienced in London — attentive from beginning to end, friendly without being too familiar. Food was as good as any we’ve had in London — scones were light, fresh and tasty with lemon curd, fresh clotted cream and strawberry jam.

My husband and I stopped in to Harrods to grab lunch one afternoon, then go shopping for a souvenir watch afterwards(you can read about the shopping experience elsewhere). There are quite a few places to dine in Harrods. I was very tempted by the«Food Court» but it was a busy lunch service and seating was scarce, so we wandered up to the Terrace restaurant on the fourth floor. It was much quieter and the atmosphere was much nicer … white linen tablecloths, etc … We took just a cursory glance at the menu before being seated, and in retrospect I wish we’d looked more carefully. The only thing I saw on the menu that looked edible and wasn’t outrageously expensive was the Fish and Chips(with Mushy Peas and Tartar Sauce) … and even that was £26. Still, this was our Big Trip to London, and who knows when or if we’d ever get back to Harrods, so we both ordered the F&C with a glass of the cheapest red wine available. (Yes! I know! I know! Red wine and fish? At least I avoided the horror of my husband asking for ice in his glass!) And it was a very good lunch. We had a rather unfortunate fish-and-chip experience at a chain restaurant in Leicester Square upon our arrival in the city, and this more than made up for it. The batter on the haddock was light and crispy. The chips were, um, well, they were pretty standard French fries as we call them in the states. The mushy peas were interesting(in a good way) as I’d never had them. The tartar sauce was good. The wine was wonderful. Our server was a lovely and accommodating Eastern European lady who seemed tickled when I asked a couple of questions about the menu(«What is ‘Bubble and Squeak?»). Perhaps she sensed that we were completely out of our depth at Harrods and took pity on us. Whatever. She made us feel very welcomed. At one point my husband and I looked at each other and started laughing because neither of us would have ever guessed that one day, after 33 years together, we’d be dining on Fish and Chips at Harrods in London. It seemed to be the quintessential«London» thing to do … and we did it … and it was nice. Now, about that souvenir watch …(insert sounds of gasping for air, and visuals of clutching one’s heart)!

I cannot recommend this restaurant. I don’t like to give bad reviews. In fact, this is the first negative review I’ve ever submitted on Unilocal. But I feel a duty to balance the other, overly-positive Unilocal review, to help steer people away from a bad experience at Harrod’s Terrace. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the bathrooms(which the other reviewer loved) are, indeed, gorgeous, for whatever that is worth. The service is adequate, though not as attentive as you expect in a fancy restaurant, and perhaps even a bit aloof. But here is the important thing: the food is mediocre. We had eggs florentine(dry & blecky), hot chocolate(uninspired), and, a dish we were told is very popular there, fish & chips(bland). The presentation was great, but the taste was not up to par. And our meal was WAY over-priced. Like, I think the fish & chips alone cost £22. You expect a restaurant in Harrod’s to be expensive, but you also expect it to be good, and this wasn’t.

Great breakfasts are served on the 4th floor of Harrods. Bookmark this stop for a delightful full British breakfast with some of the most terrific bacon, sausage, and orange yoked rich farm fresh eggs. A little spendy, but really not more than many breakfast places in London and certainly the most fancy we encountered –with white tablecloths and very old style service. Rooftop views remind me of Paris, or that scene in Mary Poppins with the chimney sweeps dancing about. Granted this will sound completely strange to most, but ladies please check out the nearby ladies room. Completely Victorian, never remodeled, down to the elaborate carved wood stalls and Victorian tile work. Marvelous!
