Sure, it’s a bit more pricey than some places but it is my go-to hardware store. This store has absolutely any cleaning product, hardware tool and home accessory that you could ever need. As fellow Unilocaler Kimberley mentioned… don’t bother browsing for items. Ask for assistance from one of the guys behind the counter. They’ll point you in the right direction and will likely even suggest a better alternative to fix your need.

It’s got everything you could ever need in life ranging from alarm clocks to masonry drill bits to toilet cleaner. It’s pretty expensive, and it smells really bad, esp downstairs and towards the rear of the store. I suspect some sewage issue? Some items are off-brand at higher than brand-name prices — I wouldn’t use many of the products for anything more than a fix-it job. Anyhow — not a bad place to have around the corner though not nearly as good as Farmer Bros on Fulham Road just a few blocks away.

This place is an Aladdin’s cave. I used to walk past it a million times, never giving it a second thought. I assumed it was a small place, unlikely to have what I wanted. Until one day I wanted muslin for preserves and all of the other potential places in the area(chain, non chain and supermarket) had me stumped. With a fridge full of Seville oranges about to go mouldy, I was worried. So I stepped inside. This isn’t a shop to browse in. It operates by asking the friendly guy behind the counter what you want, and then he(or another person) runs around the shop(including the large basement) gathering all of the items which could possibly meet your specifications. And he had three types of muslin. I was extremely impressed. And ever since then, they’ve always met every request, every time with at least two comparable items. No matter how obscure. The reason this place doesn’t get five stars though is because unfortunately, there is a premium on the price for the location and convenience.
