History

Established in 2012.

Global Getaway was started in March 2012 after a lifetime of dreaming for the moment when I would finally own and operate my own business. My passion for travel and meeting people from the world over was enough to make me decide to change my career path after more than 15 years in the civil service.

It was always my passion to own my own business ever since I understood the principles of business and accounts. I came to England from Jamaica with the intention to get my degree and then return to Jamaica to set up business. The months rolled into years and then into decades and although I returned several times it was just for a holiday. I had began to set down my roots here.

With a passion for travel I knew that once the opportunity came for me to change my career path, I knew that I would be involved in the travel industry somehow. I had spent some years during my studies working in hospitality and travel and so was certain about what I wanted to do.

Though I am still in the early days of establishing the business, I face the uncertainties and challenges, with a sense of contentment, happy that I have finally got the chance to do something that I really care about.
