History

Established in 1985.

We started as a Prontaprint Franchise based in Houndsditch EC3 originally ownd/​operated by Mendel Markinson since 1985. In November 2007 I bought the business from Mendel and invested in a large format printer. December 2010 we moved to our current location in Middlesex Street to a larger premises, invested in new digital printers and guillotine. A year later we left the Prontaprint name behind and went independent. A big challenging step but has proved a success thanks to our loyal clients that have supported us over the years and also due to new high profile clients we have picked up over the last couple of years. With the space we have now it will enable us to invest in new equipment that will enable us to offer more to our clients.

My career in the printing industry began in 1983 when I was looking for a job and applied to Prontaprint Barbican. There I learnt how to print on ABDick 360 and 375 offset litho presses and the finishing processes. I was given the opportunity to help out the designer and became proficient in the art of paste-​up and photo typesetting! Eventually technology bounded forward and we had a colour copier and an Apple Mac! Goodbye Letraset :(Back to the future and in 2007 I bought the Houndsditch Prontaprint from the retiring owner. We weathered the recession without casualties and in 2010 moved 5 mins around the corner to the vibrant less stuffy Middlesex Street (Pettycoat Lane) to a larger, bank balance friendly, premises and began to prosper! In 2011 we had the opportunity to leave the Prontaprint franchise and go independent with a fabulous fresh brand and the support of our loyal clients. Our team pride ourselves on our impeccable service, quality of our work and competitive pricing.
