After just ten days of wear my newish pair of Geox has failed me; the right sole separated almost entirely from the leather. Adhesive failure appears to have been the culprit — picture uploaded. Two clerks had assured me that this is most extraordinary, citing Geox’s sterling reputation for quality. Perhaps. But repeated pressures for me to consider a product exchange(at purchase price of 99.99 for what is now 69.99, no less) or a 12-month store credit, in my eyes, tarnishes the brand far more than would a fluke product defect. This kind of defensive posturing does nothing to further Geox’s brand image. In the States manufacturers and retailers speedily process full refunds for defects — no pressure, no questions asked, sometimes with incentives to encourage future en-engagement with the brand. Are my expectations too high?
