Great atmosphere and the food is not too bad either. I have been a few times now and really enjoyed the live music that was available on a Friday evening. Highly recommended!

First time visit and if I lived in the area — would come more often. Went for a comedy night which was really good and had a great laugh even though I had never heard of any of the comedians before but the MC Mickey Hutton was really good and so were the acts; Carey Marx, Sean Percival and Topping & Butch. My friend had been here before and apparently the food was suppose to be good so we also had dinner which was in my opinion just normal pub food — nothing special. I found drink prices quite reasonable as half pint of Guinness was only £2. Would visit again

One of the better traditional pubs in Chiswick. Good selection of ale and lagers, and the food is pretty good too. This is one of the few bars in Chiswick that show football, so if that’s not your thing it may not be the place to go if there’s a big match on. George IV also has live music on weekends, a darts board and a comedy club at the back. Trivia; Adele performed here before she became famous.

One of my favorite pubs in London. Chiswick is a nice place anyway and on High Road you find this very traditional english pub. Clientele is very mixed. Easy, relaxed atmosphere. Staff is very aware if somebody might have drunken too much and is in risk of getting into o creating trouble. It just won’t happen. The beer variety is also very good. I alway have the London Pride from the nearby Fullers brewery. I find it is one of the best beers in the world at least for my personal taste.

As I state in all my reviews… it’s hard to review pubs cause they’re all so similar to each other. But I enjoyed this pub. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of Chiswich High Street. The beer… same as any other pub. The food was better than average pubs. I usually hate british pub foods for the usual reasons… it sucks. But we had a few nibbles here it the food was pretty decent. Reasonably priced. The best part is that they have a beer garden. Sadly I could only handle about 30 minutes of being outside before I retreated indoors from fears of getting autumn frostbite. he he. But over all a nice pub! Larger than average as well. Plenty of room.

I ordered a burger and was quite average, if I’m generous. 9.25£ is bloody expensive for the quality. The chips were good though. Drinks are expensive too. 1 beer and one cider 8.75£. Ambient is not great, with plenty of retired men. One good thing is that you can bring your dog all the way inside!

Nice pub with a lovely atmosphere and reasonable price. We went to the headliners comedy club based I. The pub. Was very impressed, good comedians and a fun night. Doors open at 830, with the show starting 9⁄915. Finished at around 1115, very funny! And you can book online for £10, can’t go wrong! Will definitely be visiting again.

Average gastro pub, decent sized garden and function room, its ok for a drink during the day but personally id avoid it at night. Once me and my group of friends were harassed by a bunch of ‘youths’ as one of our group was looking in their general direction, it turned out that the group of abusive and potentially violent youths were friends of one of the young female bar staff. Food is terribly overpriced for what it is, Its most likely tipical 3663 frozen stuff warmed up in a microwave although I cant confirm this, but this is what ive been told.

Good solid pub. Comedy nights are a bonus and very amusing. Live music some nights which is nice and tvs showing the football, which I always end up sitting near due to the other half. Always busy but in a good way. Never a bad atmosphere. Staff are always attentive and work well when it is busy.

The pub of pubs. You just can’t beat it. Always a good vibe, not too expensive, live music, comedy nights, tv’s outside for the smoking sports fan. You can’t go wrong if you head to the George.

The better Fuller’s pub on the high street in Chiswick. Serves all the usual Fuller’s favourites(I like Discovery). It does get a bit busy on a Saturday night but the atmosphere is convivial. You do need to be 21 to get in and I guess they are quite strict about it as(flatteringly) I was asked. Of note were a couple of very striking redhead barmaids.

Went here with my Gentleman last Sunday, I arrived first and attempted to pick out strategic seating(these things have to be thought about) and settled with a big sofa in the front of the pub, on which I artfully draped myself, along with a Sunday broadsheet, whilst waiting for The Man. I had a half of Chiswick Bitter before he arrived, it was OK, dont much like bitters, but I was impressed with their range of ales(Ale is my thing). We were meeting for a ‘proper Sunday pub lunch’. This was supposed to be the *point* of the date. Alas my appetite was non existent, and the menu failed to inspire hunger. I picked at a plate of quesadilla of which I finished the salad, and lamented my plight. This was all much to the amusement of Man, who proceeded to show off his squash player arms then tuck into a massive pie, which he appeared to enjoy. It certainly looked impressive, his review was a non committal, «yeah its good» when pressed. Unfortunately, neither of us having the slightest idea about football, we picked a day of a big match(we guessed Arsenal ManU from the shouts around the pub, but still aren’t sure) This meant that our nice big sofa was being eyed up continuously and every time one of us went to the toilet dirty looks were shot our way for daring to take up such a large amount of prime seating. I found the pub rather commercial and run of the mill, think it would be a good local to go to with mates, but not really one for a romantic sunday lunch at all! Fail. Must request an «ambiance» survey question of Unilocal

Overall, this is a good pub(in an area sorely lacking in good drinking spots). Definitely worth a stop for a pint of Fuller’s brew! However, I would pass on the food. I know it’s on a gastropub but I was hoping for a bit beyond supermarket bread and lacklustre over chips! Ah well. Note to self: eat elsewhere and avoid disappointment!

I liked this pub… we killed some time waiting for our table at nearby Brasserie Gerard by having a few pints here. There were nice benches to sit on and even choices of fireplaces to warm up near. You could have a great chat with your mate or watch the football game. A bunch of people came in for a nearby comedy show… And it looks like they have some fun activities going on at the pub… Pub Quizzes on some nights and a naughty dancing class on other nights. A good place if you don’t know where the heck to start out the night!

Many of the pubs in Chiswick have gone down the route of the gastro so its nice to walk into a pub like the George IV and still get a. well a pub! We should have been adventurous(it was a slightly cool day) and gone for a table in the beer garden but we opted for a seat near the window instead. Food is very reasonably priced at this pub and great portions and good taste. No microwave meals here methinks. Offerings include a wide variety of pies which are super-tasty. They don’t try to do anything fancy schmancy which is a welcome change. It’s a fairly big pub with heaps of seating inside(and I imagine even bigger when you include the beer garden.) My only complaint — getting charged £1.50 for a pint of tap water and squash. Could have walked across the road and picked up a whole bottle of squash for that price!

I have great memories of this pub, mainly because of a night called ‘Blueflowers’ that used to be held in the backroom(usually used for blues or comedy nights). Sadly, Blueflowers(which saw the likes of Jamie T, Mystery Jets and even Adele in their early days) has moved onto bigger pastures. Once a month on a Sunday there would be a huge gathering of us, drinking in the beer garden first and then having a wonderous time. The pub itself is very nice, the atmosphere is always good and the punters are a mix of yobbish locals and trendy west londoners. A balanced mix for a good vibe. Drinks are averagely priced. The food during the day time is really really yummy pub grub. The staff are always really friendly and once let me refill my tea three times when I was feeling a bit ill.

Right in the middle of Chiswick high road is the George IV, a biggish and busy pub in amongst the bars, restaurants and boutiques of this up and coming part of West London. Being a Fullers owned pub it has a great selection of real ales and pub food — specialising in beer baked pies — I would suggest a good place for tourists wanting to escape the madness of the West end and enjoy a typical English pub and enjoy some good comfort food. Good selection of wines and the obligatory spirits and a decent courtyard out the back to smoke or enjoy the good weather. As far as I could see most of the staff are Aussie but I have to say they are very efficient and perfectly pleasant. It almost seems like a competition to see who can serve you first. Has a good local following of locals and a cross section of the community visit here, some reading the papers, others playing darts and the rest generally having a good time. Be careful if any big football games are going to be on the TV as this is not the time to go — It gets very busy, a visit to enjoy some decent food and a quiet drink will interrupted by the rowdiness that ensue.

I like this place. It’s still a pub as another reviewer has already pointed out and this is why I like it. They serve food, but it’s pub food, like pies. and not duck a-la-orange with a grapefruit sauce!!! I am of the belief that if you want to go out for something to eat and by this, I mean a posh nosh, then go to a bluddy restaurant. If you want to have a few pints, then you go to a pub and this place is great for meeting up for a pint! I have never attended the Comedy, but I am told by others that it gets quite busy, so if you are going to check it out, get there early! All in all, a cracking Fullers Pub!

This unfortunately is one of only a few pubs that have survived the Gastropub makeover in Chiswick, by which I mean this is still a pubby pub! The crowd is a mixture of young and old, posh and unposh, friends catching up and after works drinks. They have a vast array of Fullers beers on tap as well as a large extensive wine list, full of variety! The beer garden is spacious, although often closed early to avoid upsetting the locals. The food is very reasonable here and very tasty, lovely burgers and pies, usual pub fair with a little bit more pzazz Upstairs they often host Headliners a comedy club which amongst others has had Harry Hill and Al Murray guesting. Even Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden can be spotted having a quiet pint every now and then.

My favourite pub on the Chiswick High Road, its received a spit & a polish over the last few years. Always a mixed clientele, its neither old-man’s pub nor barcadi-breezer territory. Not trying to be ultra-fashionable, some of the original charm of the old pub is retained, and simply cleaned up & modernised. Food is reasonable too, with standard pub fare on offer. Tied to the nearby Fuller’s brewery, it was recently awarded Fuller’s Griffin Trophy as their Pub of the Year. There’s also a comedy club adjacent to the pub, «Headliners», which is open Fridays & Saturdays.
