As far the best fish and chips we had the opportunity to eat in London. Really better than those in pubs. A bit expensive but the restaurant is rather a chic one. Charming and beautiful environment. It is located a bit far from the city centre so there were less tourists. We had a really good time.

Perhaps this isn’t a fair review, but let’s face it, I probably wouldn’t have ended up here (without being taking out to dinner by somebody’s parents… and yes, I am an adult) without being taken for a hen party.
Basically, for our large group (about 20 girls), we were given a choice of a main and a dessert with a large glass of wine for £30 total per person (ouch. That’s a ‘deal?!’). Now, I didn’t want to pay this £30 for fish and chips (their specialty) nor for the veggie option (a risotto), so I went for the steak. Not giant portions, but a tender, thin steak with some very buttery mash. All in all, very tasty. I had an Eton mess with lemon curd for dessert which was also really tasty. Probably the best Eton mess I’ve had, but then again, that is a dish that is pretty hard to mess up.
Basically, this is an upscale fish and chips shop, and while I am not cheap when it comes to food, and I’d gladly pay that amount at a lot of places, this is probably not somewhere I’d frequent given the ingredients cost/benefit,. But, that said, I can see why people who like it, like it. And that Eton mess was pretty damn tasty.

Shared a fantastic seafood platter of lobsters, prawns, squid… very fresh and the prawns were pan fried to perfection. Came with a delicious aioli dip. The creamed mash went really well. The restaurant is well known for its seafood and from what I tasted — praise is well deserved.
Would completely recommend the restaurant — particularly if you can get the cosy table for two at back near window.
Service was very good as well. Would definitely visit again for a nice quiet night with friends.

There is another business with the same name near Notting Hill Gate. This one is in Chelsea.
It’s a upscale restaurant that focuses most of the menu on fancy fish and chips, with a few other seafood dishes. It fills up for a late Sunday lunch and apparently sees a lot of business on weekday nights.
Apparently the fish and chips were quite good, though priced as you would expect for quite an upscale place at 14 – 18 pounds for the fish (plus another 3 pounds for the chips).
Gluten-free notes: This place focuses on dishes that are battered and fried — so not a lot of options for you. The steak is a decent option.
