One of my favourite playgrounds in the heart of London.
For one, it’s a great place to window shop — although it would be only a few minutes before you’re tempted to open up your wallet to purchase a nice can of tea or chocolates or biscuits or whatever have you. The variety and quality are both impeccable, and it’s quickly become my go-​to place if I want to get something nice for the ones I care about.
Secondly, their tea place in the back is solid. I went once for a cup of tea and a scone, and I enjoyed everything, including the service and the ambience.
Last but not least, their location is quite ideal. You can hop over to Green Park for a nice day out or go across the street to enjoy an exhibition at the RA. Alternatively, you can always find a good place to eat in Mayfair. Whatever the case, you are sure to have a nice day out in the vicinity.
Highly recommend a visit — or at least, stop for a few minutes on the hour to watch the delightful clock chimes on its edifice!

The English Tea Superstore! Did not have much time, but was led into this place by friends. They have all kinds of tea: black, green, herbal and in both loose and baged form. Perhaps the ultimate souvenier shop. They had loose tea in covered glass bowls for sniffing almost every variety but did not have a way to sample the brewed tea. Guess you have to trust them or know the quality in advance. Worth exploring

I’m giving this 3 stars because of a few reasons. 1, I phoned F&M and described to them that I’ll be with people who all want different things. They suggested I make a reservation at the Parlor so I did. 2, the selection for afternoon tea was skimpy as hell and over expensive compared to buying things a la carte.
The welshrarebit was aight, but kind of a lame option for afternoon tea for 23£. The carrot soup I didn’t get to try but was eaten so I assume it was good. The scones and clotted cream were good, but it’s hard to hate clotted cream and if you do then you’re no friend of mine. the lemon drizzle was nice, not very sweet but was perfectly sweet with the drizzle bit so it was a nice balance. The smoked salmon was a bigger fish with a lot of salmon which was surprising to compare it to my rarebit.
The tea was super nice and not bitter when it stayed on the pot for awhile to my surprise.
The service was UHMAZING! They were so accommodating to a rowdy 1 year old running amok in the place.
I won’t be going back unless there’s a sale on tea strainers.

I took my daughter for tea at the Parlor in Fortnum and Mason. There are no reservations but the line moves quickly. Everything was a la carte which was nice if you didn’t want a full tea. We had the gluten free scones which were delicious. It’s a cute place to take kids– not the traditional elegant afternoon tea but more of a fun quick stop. The store itself is beautiful and the chocolates on the main floor make great gifts wrapped in their traditional beautiful packaging.

This is definitely not a cheap place but if you’re looking to buy some goodies for your non London friends. And have money to throw around… I’d come here. They have one of a kind things…
Their rose petal jelly is wonderful…
Their tea is divine… They even have a Queen Anne line. :)
I also got some rose and cream chocolates… A little too sweet for my taste.
Oh and they serve high tea but I heard it will cost you a pretty penny…

One of my must-​stops every time I’m in London. The packaging gets me every single time, it’s just beautiful and makes everything better. It makes for lovely presents (the china is a bit difficult) but the tins hold up well and have use when all the contents are consumed.
It’s easy to get stuck in the food hall but the other departments are certainly worth a visit. Earlier in the holiday season, it wasn’t crowded, service was perfect. They have an extensive perfume sections with some of the less well-​known brands and the associates are very well versed and patient in what you want. It’s been notoriously difficult for me to find one that works for me, and they were able to find it.

Went here for a Christmas shop to get some teas and jams and this place which is essentially famous due to its Britishness equally excels in its quality.
The tea and jam selection is unbelievable. Beautifully packaged items and though it is mega packed with tourists I love it. Great window displays too! Very Selfidges-​esque.

Packed wall to wall with holiday shoppers. We didn’t know where to start as all the jars/​containers/​tins all looked the same. Sometimes you didn’t know if you were at the display of teas, toffees or coffee until someone moves out of your way so you can get close enough to read the labeling. Furthermore chocolates, biscuits, Christmas advent calendars, even foie gras in tin they seemed to not have forgotten anything.
They had a nice display of fancy silver tea leaf infusers however at £150 (approx $ 225) average a pop I decided to move on.
Feeling hungry? They have a food forum at the lower floor for sandwiches, salads, cheeses, poultry, meat etc or you can also go for afternoon tea I believe on the fifth floor.
I got a bit of nostalgia when they played Walking in the Air from The Snowman (anyone remember this British animation film where the flying snowman takes the boy out on an adventure and sadly melts the next day?). I haven’t heard this since I was a kid when it played on KQED and of course I hear it in London.
We picked up some goodies for ourselves and to gift to others. If I had more space in my luggage I may have bought more. A must visit during Christmas.
TIP: Go to the lower food level and pay for all your items there. The queues there were MUCH shorter.

Do you have couple extra millions of British pounds laying around in your bank account or do you have a fancy dinner party where you want to show off your biscuits and tea? Then head to Fortnum & Mason.
Its like a museum of very expensive confections and silver tea strainers and all the things you need when you live in your Penthouse above Regent Street. Or if the Queen asked you to join for an afternoon tea you probably stop by here to pick up the best nougat.
I got Whiskey Scottish Cake for my friends back in San Francisco because 1) whiskey and 2) cake.

Todo lo que diga realeza es mi onda, soy muy fanatica de cualquier proveedor oficial de su majestad, desde el que le vende los diarios hasta las Hunter. Quiero todo eso. Y eso incluye esta tienda increible.
Más allá de mis delirios de grandeza, este lugar es super interesante para cualquier vieja chusma de barrio. Establecido hace cientos de años, Fortnum and Mason le provee las compras del supermercado a los reyes, tienen tés exclusivos, mermeladas increibles y todo todo a precios carisimos! No podes comprar ni la muestra de la tela que usan para hacer la muestra del saco de te, date una idea!
Es lindo para ir a chusmear, y capaz con alguna rebaja llevar algún recuerdo para el tercer mundo, los precios son prohibitivos! Igual una linda experiencia y a veces hasta dan muestras gratis!

I used to be a black sheep. Yep.
I stood out among all those coffee lovers in the US. Those people who had their perfectly versed orders lined up at starbucks everyday — «I’ll have a decaf venti Pumpkin Spice Latte with no whip and no foam.» Oh honey, please — I rolled my eyes as I stood by sipping my tea.
Now here in London I feel like everyone else. People here understand my tea obsession and fuel it with all these afternoon tea shops & stores. I’m in heaven.
Fortnum and Mason is just that — 3 stories of heaven for people like me. The lovely floral tin boxes filled with tea. The decorated boxes filled with treats for an afternoon party. It’s just amazing. But if you’re not interested in tea, they sell a variety of goods from Marzipan, to teapots, and for all you bored men out there dragged out shopping — the lower floor has wine and alcohol. ;) Definitely would recommend buying souvenirs here! You seriously could spend hours here, pushing through all the crowd trying to get a good look at the items. I would recommend coming early or late at night when there’s less of a crowd.
I came at 8:30 pm (it closes at 9) after finishing up afternoon tea and there STILL was a crowd. Now if you’re here to buy tea I would recommend getting loose leaf at the counter. Yes, yes, I know that packaging. It’s too beautiful to pass up. But you will save a lot more just getting loose leaf and putting them into your own tins. It’s horrendously difficult to get an attendant’s attention. There were only 3 of them trying to service about 10 tourists all wanting to smell tea and being indecisive about what to buy. When I finally got my chance at the counter though, the lady that served us was the NICEST and most patient person ever. She was down to let us smell any tea we wanted and put through all our thinking hmm… I don’t know if I want to buy that tea.
{FYI}: There’s a minimum of 100 grams of loose leaf to buy. Which really isn’t that much if you love tea.
{RECOMMENDED TEAS}:
1. Classic Earl Grey — Who can go wrong with this tea? It’s a classic and it’s delicious.
2. Queen Anne — Assam and Ceylon tea blended together. Just yum.
3. Black Tea with Peach — I know fruit infusions aren’t for everyone but when you take a whiff of this tea you’ll just fall in love. The peach scent is strong and sweet which makes you want just drink all of it at once.

— Earl Grey Tea Biscuits: The most delicious tea biscuits I have ever eaten. Shaped as tiny leaves, they taste of buttery goodness with a hint of earl grey infusion.

Fortnum & Mason is an absolutely beautiful store. It makes you back in time and is filled with many traditional British food products. It’s a great place to stop when visiting London to pick up some treats to take home with you.

Came in spontaneously and ate at the Fortnum & Mason walk in café. The 20 pound British tea that includes a 2 scones, artichoke pie, ice cream dessert and tea was delightful. I am normally not a fan of breakfast foods, but this was farily good & filling. I would say it is a good experience for those who try it for the first time. If i lived in London I would probably go once every year? $ 30 for tea is quite pricey in my eyes.
Great place to buy souvenirs. I spent about 3 hours in that place just going back and forth between products & ended up spending a fortune anyways haha. Variety of chocolates, teas, coffees, jams, dishes, perfumes, everything a person would want as a souvenier.

This place kind of makes you feel like a kid again. It’s like a candy store for lovers of tea and all the fine things that go with it.
I perched up at the eatery inside and was not disappointed. Had myself a proper earl grey and panzanella salad and my favorite dessert, Eton Mess. All great and keep in mind when the eye popping check comes, that you are dining for the ambience.

Walking in to F&M was like walking into Willy Wonka’s– from cakes to cookies to teas and biscuits and everything in between! I was giddy with excitement as I made my way around sniffing the confectionary air around me!
Now the main floor is the one with all the tantalizing array of treats. As you walk around some areas have samples for you to taste their products. I was able to taste the delicious cannolis they had just launched that week. If you head towards the tea area they have several samples of teas they brew for you to taste. All the employees are so pleasant in letting you taste what you want and in informing you of the products. We bought some macaroons which were heavenly and I purchased some of the Queen’s coffee roast they had in their beautiful canisters.
Another area I fell in love with was their perfumery. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen. Forget anything we have in the states. This is exquisite luxury and scents you won’t find back home. We had a wonderful sales assistant help us and let us sniff and spritz to our hearts content. She was very helpful in helping my friend choose a fragrance and I loved how she knew all the notes in each perfume. Another thing we loved is despite the fancy perfumes and prices, they were not in any way snooty or forceful for you to buy. We ended up coming back a second time because I fell in love with one of their perfumes and she remembered us and gave us lots of samples with our purchases!
Definitely make sure to stop in if you’re in London, even if it’s just to sample and spritz!

I’m still to try the restaurant (s), but I truly love Fortnum & Mason in terms of the shopping experience they offer. I’m not going to lie, it IS expensive indeed but they sure have geniuses working on their packaging design! A really great place to pick up a present for all the foodies in your life too!

Fortnum & Mason is so well merchandised and curated. Not only did my wife and I have a great time looking through the tea and accessories, but the marketplace on the lower ground was amazing. It is so nice to
see baked goods merchandised and have the opportunity to look through quality artisan products.
We decided to order sandwiches from the butcher and let me just say the deli case was a thing of beauty. I felt like I was on a Food Network set, everything artisan and perfectly placed. For £6 we got to
make an artisan sandwich. I went with duck, cucumber, tomatoes, arugula, and mustard on a soft roll.
The best part is you can take your sandwich and any other goodies you grab from the marketplace up to the Parlour to enjoy with a cup of tea. The staff at the Parlour is great and got us cutlery and plates for the food we just purchased.
This is a must see if you are visiting London.

Como diría mi mamá es un lugar muy «monono». El paraíso del te, sin dudas.
Según me han dicho, es el proveedor Real desde hace 150 años.
Se trata principalmente de una tienda de alimentos, aunque también se pueden encontrar productos para el hogar y bebidas.
Siguiendo la línea de Harrods, se caracteriza por el lujo y su suntuosa decoración. Los vendedores están vestidos de jacket y son todos muy amables.
Vale la pena pasar unos minutos y conocer esta típica tienda londinense que no siempre esta en los planes de los turistas.

From the window displays outside to the teas on offer inside and the multiple eateries — Fortnum and Mason is a great experience.
If you are feeling indulgent, start with a visit to the Diamond Jubilee Tea Room upstairs and sample as many teas as you are interested in. It will help you decide which ones to buy when you come downstairs. Linger over sandwiches, scones and cakes and enjoy the peace and tranquility before you head to the shopping section.
There is a gelateria on one of the other floors, if you would prefer ices and a bar in the basement section.
The supermarket area has some basic groceries, fruits, veggies, fish and meat if you would like to pick up your groceries while you are here, but I wouldn’t visit just for groceries.
There is a collection for men and women and bath and body accessories on the higher floors, but again, this is not the reason I would head specifically to this store.
What I would head here for are the wonderful range of specialty teas and coffees and cookies. There are sampler packs and 1 kilo packs if you prefer. Special blends created for Royal Occasions — The wedding, the Queens Jubilee, Prince George’s Christening, among others and they are now experimenting with some recipes from their archives too. Plenty of green teas on offer too.
The Chinese Ginger thins are my absolute favourites among the Cookies I have tasted and the others are pretty fantastic too. They have some interesting cheeses infused with whisky and brandy and port wine, cutlery for Afternoon Tea and some books with in-​house recipes. The picnic baskets are adorable, though pricy.
A Fortnum & Mason Hamper is a great gift to give or receive. Love this store!

I’ve been to London several times and I’ve done all the touristy stuff, this weekend I was in London and had to catch up with all the fancy things. I had been to Buckingham Palace and Harrods and enjoyed both of those so much that my friend took me in to Fortnum & Mason.
What a fantastic spot this is, even though locals shop here including the queen and other royals it’s a spot that tourists need to check out. Everything is beautiful, the lights, the displays, the way the products are packaged and it just has that High End London feel to it.
They have so many teas, beautiful champagne bottles, chocolates, dried fruits, everyday basics and touristy souvenirs. I didn’t even know where to look but I did take a look at everything and was informed that prince Charles has his own line of wine which I thought was very interesting.
Great spot, something for everyone, if you’re a local I’d go on a weekday, I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Only negative, I feel they’re ready for new carpet, the red one they have throughout seems a little faded and older.

La perfection. Tout est impeccable, depuis la réservation jusqu’à l’addition. J’avais réservé par internet, puis appelé pour modifier la réservation (nombre de convives). Tout a bien été enregistré. Nous étions chargés de paquets (Londres=shopping): pas de soucis, il y a un vestiaire. Nous étions 6 personnes et on nous a installés à une grande table ronde, ce qui est est toujours très agréable.
Au moment de passer la commande, on nous a suggéré d’opter pour trois formules classiques et trois formules Savory (qui est donc la version entièrement salée de l’afternoon tea). Puisque nous pouvions être resservis à volonté, notre serveur pensait que c’était la meilleure chose à faire et il a eu raison. Chaque convive a donc choisi son thé préféré. N’aimant pas les boissons chaudes, on m’a proposé de me préparer du thé glacé (un litre de thé glacé au citron: délicieux !). Ce moment fut un moment d’exception. Beaucoup d’entre nous n’avaient pas encore vécu cette expérience, et les autres l’ont vécue à nouveau comme leur première fois. Le service est irréprochable. Les plateaux sont remplacés sans qu’on ait à le demander. Nous avons bien entendu oublié de laisser une petite place pour le buffet gâteaux; qu’à cela né tienne: ils ont insisté pour emballer les pâtisseries et nous permettre de les emporter (elles ont fait un excellent petit déjeuner le lendemain matin dans notre chambre d’hôtel). L’addition est élevée, mais c’est une expérience unique.
Bonne dégustation.
Attention: dress code: l’afternoon tea est servi dans plusieurs salons très élégants: pas de tenue de sport; tenue smart à savoir pas forcément une cravate, mais un col pour les messieurs est de bon ton. Je déconseille également d’y aller avec des enfants en bas âge et/​ou des enfants qui né sont pas sages comme des images (petits loulous normaux de 1 à 6 ans, donc, s’abstenir).

What not to love. This place is a true British establishment. If you love tea then you will love Fortnum and Mason .
I only wish their high teas wasn’t quite so expensive but going by the amount of people here in the tea parlor its not putting anyone off .

Je connaissais le rdc de Fortnum and Mason mais pas le salon de thé. Maintenant c’est chose faite !
Après avoir réservé plusieurs semaines a l’avance (autrement peu de chances d’obtenir une table), nous sommes arrivées au 4ème etage et avons complètement changé d’ambiance. Ici règne le calme et la discrétion.
Nous avons opté pour la formule tea-​time à 42£. La formule comprend une boisson et un assortiment de petits sandwichs anglais, des scones et des pâtisseries.
Tout était parfait, la table était parfaitement dressée et nous avions de la place. Le personnel est serviable et aimable.
Si vous voulez vivre une expérience toute britannique alors offrez vous cette pause gourmande.

I love Fortnum and Mason! If you are a tea lover you must make a trip here when you are in town. This place has a really rich history as its been in business since the 1700s. Apparently the queen and princess Kate made a visit to their tea salon last year, how cool is that???
There are several floors with the first floor dedicated to tea and biscuits and there is a tea salon on the top floor. Everything is packaged elegantly and its hard to resist not spending a fortune here. There is a section where they let you smell their different tea collections. They also have this chocolate dipped orange digestive biscuits that are very delicious, I really regret not buying more.
This place is a great place to come pick out some nice gifts to bring home for family and friends or a nice treat for yourself. I highly recommend the royal blend loose leaf tea as well. The tea is so rich and yet smooth and is perfect with a splash of milk. Seems like they ship to the US if you order online for 30 pounds shipping charge.

Der Teesalon im obersten Stockwerk von Fortnum & Mason ist anders als aus deutschen Lokalen gewohnt, mit Teppich ausgelegt und vermittelt Wohnzimmeratmosphäre.
Zu leiser Klaviermusik genießen die Gäste (Reservierung erbeten…) Ihren Afternoon bzw. «low tea», der zwischen 15 und 17 Uhr serviert wird und traditionell nicht am Esstisch, sondern im Salon an einem niedrigen Teetisch eingenommen wird.
Gereicht werden zusätzlich zum cream tea Süßgebäck und kleine Sandwiches (Savouries) auf einer Etagere.
Vor oder nach der Teatime kann man bei einem Schoppingbummel durch das Kaufhaus Fortnum & Mason die passenden Tassen für die Teatime zuhause bzw. andere Notwendigkeiten erwerben.
So schrullig es klingt — so gemütlich ist es — jederzeit wieder!

Une boutique chic et choc sur plusieurs étages, avec une épicerie fine à saliver!
Un stand chocolats, boulangerie (avec des cupcakes!!!), et une grande variété de thés anglais.
C’est là bas que vous trouverez un tas de petits cadeaux à ramener de Londres, sans trop se tromper!
D’ailleurs toutes les heures vous pouvzez observer la grande horloge à l’extérieur de la boutique: des automates sors et se saluent c’est mignon!

Pour tous les amateurs de thé, Fortnum & Mason est une référence. Sur place, c’est un gigantesque magasin sur plusieurs étages: épicerie et traiteur au sous-​sol, thés, cafés, chocolats, puddings, cakes et biscuits au rez-​de-​chaussée, puis vaisselle, servies, articles et livres de cuisine à l’étage au-​dessus. J’avoue avoir moins compris la pertinence des deux étages encore au dessus, avec des jeux, des accessoires et mode féminin comme masculin, de la papeterie ou encore l’espace parfumerie et savon. Mais cela n’est pas choquant pour autant car l’ensemble reste très «british».
En tout cas, pour les amateurs de thés et de goûters anglais, c’est un must !

Grand magasin britannique par excellence puisque c’est là que la courrone se fourni en choses et d’autres
J’ai bien aimé le 4ième étage pour quelques cadeaux babioles de dernière minute. Et ce malgré le caissier d’une lenteur incroyable
J’ai moins apprécié le rez de chaussée où la foule se bouscule en tous sens. On étouffe ! Mais beau lieu cependant, belle déco de Noël, rien à redire pour ça !

Le temple du thé à l’anglaise: une sélection très british de thés classiques, les essentiels y sont déclinés en plusieurs variétés. L’ensemble fait très grand magasin il y a plusieurs étages qui regroupent tout ce qui se fait autour des arts de la table mais attention les prix sont très élevés. Il parait que leur afternoon tea servi au rdc est exceptionnel mais son prix prohibitif m’a dissuadé de tester.

Würde ich in London wohnen, wäre ich wohl Stammkunde! Die Weihnachtsdeko ist der Knüller!!!

Hier hatte ich mir eine nette «Teatime» erhofft, wurde aber etwas enttäuscht. Im Unterschied zu fast allen anderen Londoner Locations war das Personal hier recht unfreundlich, insbesondere der Oberkellner. Den Tee habe ich anderswo schon besser bekommen, der Kuchen war dafür sehr lecker. Das «Teekännchen», das man pro Person serviert bekommt, ist schon eher eine ausgewachsene Kanne, so dass man sich im Grunde eine Kanne locker zu zweit teilen kann. Insgesamt fand ich es zu teuer für die erbrachte Leistung, selbst wenn man einen «Fortnum & Mason”-Aufschlag dazurechnet.

Irgendwie ein richtig klassischer und tradioneller Laden. Wir haben dort auch gut gegessen. Wirklich richtig teuer ist es. Aber ich will auch nicht wissen, was die Mieten kosten.
Ist so ein bisschen wie KaDeWe in Berlin, nur noch gehobener und noch teurer. :-)

Ich liebe Fortnum & Mason und schaue bei jedem Londonbesuch vorbei (in erster Linie um den «Piccadilly-​Blend» zu kaufen). Der Laden ist einfach sehr schön und in meinen Augen nicht ganz so touristenüberlaufen wie Harrods. Die Schaufensterdekorationen sind immer ein Hingucker und in den Restaurants kann man sehr schön und very british den gestressten Füssen nach einem langen Shopping-​Marathon eine Pause gönnen.

L’intérêt de ce luxueux grand magasin londonien établi il y a trois cents ans, est avant tout le rez-​de-​chaussée et sa grande épicerie. (En comparaison, l’épicerie du Bön Marché à Paris ressemble à un supermarché bas de gamme).
En étage, ambiance calme, feutrée, vêtements dans la plus pure tradition anglaise.
À Noël, en particulier, c’est étonnant.
Et le salon de thé est un petit bijou.

Evidemment, ce petit bijou est un aperçu de la culture anglaise d’un certain niveau socioculturel (pour né pas dire plus bancaire). On rentre, on regarde, on admire et on né s’étouffe pas devant les prix. Gardez votre flegme… même français. Allez, une petite folie: faites un détour par le salon de thé et prenez un thé complet (scones, sandwiches et petits gâteaux compris)… Dommage qu’il manqué les old ladies anglaises à vos côtés, remplacées par les touristes japonais… Mais au moins, vous vous direz que vous avez enfin goûté à la pure tradition de l’afternoon tea. Ps: attention, cela reste relativement cher: 25 pounds environ. Le luxe se paie…

Einfach mein Inbegriff von gehobener britischer Lebensart. Tee kauft man nicht einfach ein, man erwirbt ein Stück Lebensqualität in wunderschönen Dosen. Das Restaurant, das sich oberhalb der gediegenen Verkaufsfläche befindet, ist sehr empfehlenswert. Die Lunchkarte ist klassisch, die Qualität, wie zu erwarten, einwandfrei. Der Tee wird in großen silbernen Kannen präsentiert, dazu kann man aus einem wunderbaren Teegebäcksortiment wählen.

Ca respire le luxe ici ! Mais en tous cas on est vite tenté d’acheter du thé made in Britain, il y en a pour tous les goûts: canelle, pomme, framboise… Il y a également des sachets de thé pour préparer du thé glacé (mangue gingembre, je né l’ai pas encore goûté…). A côté de ça, des produits d’épicerie fine, marmelade par ex, ou des produits plus français à des prix exhorbitants (la crème de marrons par ex).
