History

Established in 1992.

We started as a part time business in 1992, going full-​time in 1992. We began making a few books and calendars for other publishers, such as HarperCollins and Dorling Kindersley, but became a publisher in our own right, in 2001.

Meet the Business Owner

Nick M.

Business Owner

A creative professional with extensive cultural, marketing and senior management experience. Flame Tree was born out of a strong personal desire to create beautiful products that bring value and enrichment to a very wide range of users and readers.

Also write, paint and create music as Jake Jackson. Over 25 books on music how-​to (playing guitar, piano, reading music, songwriting etc) and creating a body of fiction in the dark fantasy and science fiction genres.

Previous employment includes senior sales and marketing stints at Collins, HarperCollins, Anaya, and a career start at the Open University Press, and a combination of US University presses (Harvard, Chicago, MIT and California).
