2 Stars for the proprietors each for their hospitality, knowledge and staying true to their ethically sourced goods. The downside of this spot is the iPad ordering system. This was brought in from an idea started in Japan. Oh yes, they have the technology but could they execute the plan to successful completion — NO! How it works: 1. Log into the iPad 2. Find the drink you want to order or create your own 3. Enter your table number 4. Complete your order 5. GOTOTHEBARTOPAYANDCOLLECT The flaw in this plan is #5. In what parallel universe would you elect to go through 4 additional steps to get a drink? Where are the waitstaff? My friend and I had a chat to the mastermind who designed and brought this to Fairly Square. I communicated that it’s just unnecessary. Why do all that if no wait staff will bring it? I cannot see anyone in London or NYC opting to do this. I told him, the idea was there but just fell flat on the floor. He appreciated my critique. Because this is Cocktail Week I joined a few other Unilocalers there to preview this hi-tech idea. I can honestly say, I was so annoyed at this epic fail that I, and others, were ready to leave after about 20mins.(long enough for all of us to arrive & decide to move onto pasteurs new.)

Ooh I was a little bit excited about tonight, not gonna lie! A fellow Unilocaler(hell yeah Yinnie C!!) was helping to run a Unilocal social networking event here — it’s social networking week, obviously… Free evening and in need of a cocktail, I thought to myself ‘let’s go here and enjoy the high tech iPads with alcohol.’ Cos how can that go wrong… Well it can’t to be fair, and that’s why this place got 3 stars. Opened in Feb this year, it serves responsibly sourced cocktails and if I go back I would definitely listen more about this interesting work ethos. As it was, I hadn’t eaten so after 3 cocktails it was tricky to listen, my bad! But £7.50 per cocktail, some interesting twists on classics and friendly staff, I would say this place was a-ok. Only 3 stars cos I had a mojito and a caipirinha and they were not up top a really either way. Shame. If I’m in the area again, I would stop by. Not sure is go out of my way to see it though
