Came here for a lunch as they offer a special weekday business 3 course set menu for only £11.50. It was extremely quite with only two other covers in the large restaurant. It was lovely and sunny and they had the doors opening up over the old docks. The food was great. I had dim sum to start which is a different shape to what you would expect with an open top. Tasty and filling. I then had the beef massaman for main. One of my favourite dishes. Sauce packed lots of flavour but the beef was slightly tough. The dessert was some sort of pannacotta. Again nice but I didn’t finish it as the starter and main was big enough. Service was ok but I had to walk up to the waitress who seemed to be hiding behind the bar to pay.(Visit — 30/07/2015 Lunch)

I’ve been there for the first time today. Nice décor. Friendly staff. I was pleased to see the kitchen was behind a huge glass wall, right at the entrance. I ordered spring rolls and Pad Thai chicken. Disappointingly they arrived at the same time. While the location is nice, I agree the food was not as good as I would expect for that price. Major flaw the chicken, whose flavour left me a bit perplexed.

I think the place is great. In the summer, the outdoor area overlooks the Thames and makes you feel far away from London(almost Nice-like). The décor inside has a nice touch as well and gives off a Thai or SE Asian vibe in a classy way. The food, especially traditional dishes, is hard to beat and the service is attentive and friendly which is not to be expected in London. And Thai ice tea — 5 stars! A bit pricey, especially for starters. That’s the only reason it doesn’t get the fifth star.

Its a very good place, but compared to how it was 5 years ago — it deteriorated. Still definitely worth a visit

There are so so many better Thai options! This place is really overpriced for what it is: yes they have a nice little cocktail bar and the setting is nice for a drink during the day but that’s about it. The food is pretty average yet pricey(Chicken Pad Thai £9, Massaman curry £11) This review is as a result of a few visits so not just one bad experience, the Thai fishcakes could be bounced, the prawns have a terrible flavour to them and the house wines are horrific. If you are on the Isle of Dogs and looking for Thai then go to Nakhon Thai down the road. The prices are roughly the same but the result is much better quality.

I love the décor, the atmosphere, the service and of course the food! When you enter there is the sound of a twinkling white piano and an eclectic swathe of pot plants, carved wood, giant fans, ornate mirrors and smiling staff. When you sit down to eat — relax in a little oriental haven right next to the Thames. Lovely service, lovely food. You can even hear yourself talk unlike so many other restaurants where the over loud buzz of a Saturday night socialising overwhelms the whole evening. You can also park right outside — which is a bonus.

I love the elephant royale! It offers an amazing buffet ona sunday which represents superb value for money from 1200 — 1500. Get there early as there is so much selection. The buffet tends to be refilled very often with the exception of the deserts. The quality of food is excellent, as is the range which varies each week. The kitchen is open to view which is nice. Free parking on site — though not lots of it. During the summer I especially like being able to sit outside and the views over the thames to the naval college in Greenwich are excellent
