I have spent a lot of money here over the years particularly on clothes.
The buyers here know their market and what they are doing, they stock a varied selection of very desirable and wearable clothes from generally (with exception of French Connection) non high street labels in a range of prices. Translation: if you buy something from here chances are you won’t see ten other people in London wearing the same thing. I would say that the target market is the 25 – 45 year old local person who values looking good but doesn’t want to break the bank. Twice yearly they hold really rather legendary 50% off sales top tip get in quick!
They also sell a decent selection of handbags and shoes. The labels they stock seem to vary (with the exception of a few stalwarts like Noanoa). I think this is indicative of the good buyers for example when Ash footwear became popular suddenly Ed was stocking it. I actually tend to ignore the gift section, yes its sometimes good for a nosey and a difficult gift but in my view, Ed’s strength has always been clothing.
The service is ok, quite hands off, which can be a good thing. They tend to be very relaxed and leave you to it, even if you have very boisterous children in tow given Ed is located in nappy valley this again indicates their innate understanding of their target market. It can get busy but it is very spacious and has a great layout for coping with crowds.
Like many independent shops, don’t expect returns to be easy! It will have to be a genuine reason. Personally, coming from a background of working in small fashion shops, I understand. Its not the same as Topshop or Marks and Spencers returns hurt small shops like this and even exchanges will sting a bit as a retailer its very easy to get burned by a few bad experiences of being ripped off by customers (trust me it happens!) and as a result even genuine returns and exchanges will be greeted with a prickly air. I understand it but it will bug some people.
All in all, well worth a look if you are in the area.

I’ve been mooching in ed for absolutely years, and they’ve always had a lovely selection of cool, design-​y products; the kind of stuff that you definitely don’t need, but really really want. There’s a good bit by the till with more affordable pocket money type gifts, but if you’ve got a slightly bigger budget then you’ll have an absolute field day, should you need to buy any presents for trendy chums! They’ve also got a decent selection of sweet cards and wrapping paper.
At the rear end of the shop one can find a nice selection of clothes and shoes for both ladies and gentlemen, with such brands as French Connection, Nümph and Birkenstock.
If you should walk past and see they’ve got a sale on, do go in as it’s often pretty good; I’ve picked up a few bargains over the years! There are increasingly a number of shops around the Dulwich area that stock very similar products, but ed is nonetheless a firm favourite of mine.

This shop is great, they have everything! Lovely cards, clothes and nice presents. They have little nick nacks, Cath Kidson goodies and great baby clothes. Expect to pay quite a bit for the things is here but they have something for every price range. Christmas in ED is amazing with gorgeous baubels and decorations.
They have a lovely jewellery cabinet as well for those extra special treats. It gets busy at weekends (closed Sundays). The staff are really lovely and friendly and they always have nice music on.

This is a quirky little place that is great for odd gifts and interesting things. the prices can be quite hefty and the shop does get pretty busy. it is another little treasure trove that you can easily get stuck in and spend too much money for something that seems utterly pointless when you get home! It is worth a visit just to have a look at the booty they have in there and you might just find what you have been looking for. Ed has evverything from dresses to lunch boxes so there is no excuse for walking out empty handed.

This is one of those shops were everything looks amazing until you pick it up on its own and it becomes a bit random out of context. Never-​the-​less a true gifts emporium, you wont fail to find something for that tricky friend whose birthday is next week. They also stock a range of really nice clothes and shoes for both men and women in the back of the shop, with two curtain-​drawn changing rooms to try on in. I can never resist popping in whenever I walk past.

Ed is part of a chain of shops in Dulwich selling a thoughtful collection of clothing, jewellery, home furnishings, accessories and gifts, think vintage style and affordable prices. Everything in the shop is very pretty, the kind of things that are very easy to buy without looking for or needing them. But when in need of a present for someone, Ed is always a reliable option.

Love this little shop! I find it hard to give any shop less than four stars…
Yes, yes it’s another of those Oliver Bonas (
) –alikes that sell little striped teapots, Cath Kidston-​esque aprons and tiny little books called things like «101 ways to be green and smug» for £20. However, Ed kind of does it a bit better than many. They carry some cute and some stylish lines of chinaware, fun stationery, plenty of gift ideas and — personal fave — a well edited selection of clothing. Once you get past the hefty quota of French Connection you find Lee Jeans (underrated, fit me well) and plenty of other cute brands. Much more fun than hitting the high street.
Pop in on a Saturday and combine with brunch at Blue Mountain (
) and a wander round the North Cross Road market — pure middle class fun. (tongue firmly in cheek) …
