I’m sorry EAT. Being a genuine foodie(read: food snob), I only find myself in EAT for two reasons: either a non-like-minded colleague drags me here, or I’m in dire need of some breakfast and have failed to obtain breakfast by any other means. I don’t hate you EAT, I just don’t like you either. If you are going to go to EAT, their true merits are in their drinks and food like porridge, if only because I wouldn’t heat my milk in a saucepan for lack of patience. Their lunch time soups can also be very redeeming. The hot breakfast here is not great, but it’ll keep you going til lunch. The salads are a bit hit and miss. I’ve had their crayfish and noodle salad and besides the low calories and leaving you slightly hungry there’s not much to tell. I know plenty of people who have a love affair with EAT. For me though, you’re just not right. The flavours are either a bit bland, or opaque but not delightful. Everything that I’ve had at EAT is missing something and for that reason, EAT you will always remain a last resort. Again, I’m sincerely sorry EAT. Maybe when I’m feeling lonely and have low self-esteem, but otherwise… it’s over.
