Great sandwich place for lunch, really cheap(under £5 for a sandwich), they accept card no minimum no extra charge. They open at 5, so if you want breakfast Earl’s has your back. Huge range of sandwiches and fillings, including lots of weekly or daily specials. Just a good no frills sandwich joint. Small interior with no room inside for seating, there are a few tables outside. Will definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for a freshly made sandwich for a reasonable price in Covent Gardens, this is a great choice! I had the smoked salmon baguette, which comes with slices of smoked salmon and either cream cheese or «salad» which is tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber. If you order the salad, it comes with buttered baguette. They also ask you if you want lemon and pepper on top of your sandwich, which I recommend you say yes to since it definitely ups the flavor! My smoked salmon baguette was only 4 pounds(it’s the same price for eat in and take-out) and they cut it in half for you. It was flavorful, filling and fresh. This is a cute store with an old-time feel. It’s pretty small inside and usually has a line at lunch-time but they move really fast and they take card at no extra charge! I’ll definitely come back next time for a jacket potato(they range from 3.20 to around 5 pounds).

What do you want? A sandwich? Then Earl’s your guy. You want anything else, keep walking, bub. Earl’s is one of those classic London sandwich shops that feels like it’s been sitting there forever. There’s nothing chic or cool about here, it’s all sandwiches, all the time. There’s a long counter when you walk in… and that’s about it. There’s barely enough room for more than four or five people to stand as they order. But it’s ok, because they move so fast that they’ll get you in and out. You actually make take more time looking up at the giant boards above the counter, trying to figure out what to order, than to make your sandwich. And they’re so cheap and delicious, everything they make here is solid. They do have a few tables outside, so if you happen to be here on one of London’s delightfully rare sunny days, sit down and enjoy. Otherwise, get it to go, you’ll be happy you did.

this is my morning sandwich place and I have to say the best sandwiches I have tasted in london for the best price. generous and very tasty fillings and very nice chatty staff. I have had some of their tasty lamb wraps for lunch and at £4.10 I dont think you can get a better value lunch.

Stopped here for a quick sandwich and coffee before a meeting at The Hospital Club yesterday. It’s a rather small shop, but my GOD was my roasted vegetable and goat’s cheese toasted ciabatta phenomenal. I’m not the only one who thinks so… five minutes after my sandwich was served the line at Earl’s was literally out the door by about five people. Well worth the wait though, especially if you work/live in the neighborhood.

There are of course a zillion sandwich-and-coffee shops in central London. Earls — just down from Long Acre on Endell Street — is one of my favourites. The food is always really fresh and the chaps are friendly and helpful. Toasted bacon and onion sandwich on brown and a black coffee please.

Dear Earl, Just remember who had you first. I’m forever sorry that Mr. C melted away your Unilocal virginity after what we had together.(If you’ll remember, it was a steamy panini on ciabatta smothered in tomatoes, mozzarella and basil.) Sure I had to pay you, but ladies have needs too. And it’s reassuring to know that for £3.40 I can be both completely satisfied and yearning for more, truly, your science is blinding. Overall, it was hot and I’m pretty sure we equally enjoyed the transACTION. I know I did… twice. (wink)

OHLORD! My beef melt was SOGOOD! Damn it was good. I am clearly not alone in thinking this as lunch hour in this place is packed. With different kinds of bread, a huge assortment of fillings, prices that give you change from a fiver and a small seating area outside if you want to stay, Earls jumps into my top three sandwich bars in London. Mmmm… Memories of melt… Ahhhhh! :)

Damn it, Leon got there first! This is a great sandwich spot in Covent Garden. A simple sarndie place is so hard to find in this area. Their menu isn’t extensive but what they do well, it’s good to bear in mind that this place only has outside seating and only takes cash but again that adds to the charm. Need a snack on the go? Pop into this dream of a sandwich shop!

I’ve lost count of the number of times this place has been the answer to the perennial question, Where shall I get lunch today?. It’s a great sandwich joint, with a fantastic selection of breads and fillings, both hot and cold. My quest for the best bacon butty in London continues unabated, since Earls does a good, not great, butty. However, the real life-savers are Earls’ jacket potatoes. Pre-baked and microwaved for speed, the potatoes are generously large, well endowed with filling, and amusingly supplied with a warm leaf of lettuce and a few flimsy wafers of cucumber. That said, they are tasty, quick and filling — and I’ve never been disappointed. Fillings of choice are cheese and beans, but you can have anything you can see that’s on display, and sometimes a few things that aren’t. Earls is locally popular, and although the queues form quickly around lunchtime, their efficient ticketing system means that you’re never waiting more than five minutes or so. If you work in Covent Garden, and you’re hungry, get a jacket potato from Earls. It probably won’t be your last.
