Another 5 star visit while in London. After being here for 3 days I have eaten Fish and Chips twice. Hands down the Duke of York has the most amazing Ultimate Fish & Chips. The batter is absolutely the best. Service is great and they have a wonderful selection of beer, wine and bar drinks. It’s a two story pub. Not a lot of space for parties larger than 4 but worth the visit.

I really liked this pub. Considering it’s just off Oxford Street and New Bond St., it is remarkable how«local» this pub is, peaceful and well priced. I got served straight away, I sat down and relaxed in this quiet non fussy and quirky corner pub. You don’t get the normal wave of loud obtrusive tourist in here. They have the shutter windows, so as it was a warm summer’s day, they opened them up so there was a nice cool breeze coming though the air. The place was really clean, the bar staff really friendly. I didn’t get to eat in there this time, but will try it next time I am back — as I am sure I will be. If you want somewhere to go that you don’t want to be hassled and want to take a load off your feet and weary bones then this place is brilliant.

Absolutely dreadful food experience. Had the worst dried up old pieces of chicken tossed on a bed of overcooked noodles with a couple lettuce leaves thrown in. Couldn’t stomach it but still got charged for it. I write this after a long night of paying for it again in a different way :(For the good of your health don’t eat here!

Slightly boring beer range here, but at least they serve beer. There are not too many other pubs round here(the place opposite looked vile). The spiral staircase in the middle is quite an interesting feature. Can get the Bond Street Monopoly Pub Crawl Crowd in, which leads to photos like this one(See photo below)

The Duke of York is a solid pub in an area of posh bars and overprized gastro pubs. One would expect to see this kind of pub somewhere in the suburbs … exactly like that … or maybe drinks would be 50p cheaper there. It has a good selection of beers and other drinks, fast bartenders and spreads over three floors so one can find a space to sit nearly any day(maybe not on a Friday night). Food is the usual pub choices and its decent. There is always a good crowd of customers and it’s never too loud for a conversation. It also offers the usual bad points of a busy pub: the tables are always sticky, as is the carpet.

Along the same vein as many Mayfair pubs affordable, cosy, and neighbourhood. The crowd varies between wide boy and old money but eithe way it’s always welcoming.

Went here one night with time to kill, since the downstairs was quite full, we went upstairs to sit. Little did we know it was self service upstairs, as in, no one comes to check on you or take your order, you must go downstairs and order at the bar. Ok, that’s not too bad, however we ordered the appetizer, and the food wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great either. Our potato wedges were burnt to a crisp which was quite disappointing. All in all, it was clean and the drinks were good.

It is usually not good to eat in this neighborhood due it’s close proximity to touristy Oxford St, however I was pleasantly surprised at the local presence at this pub. Although a bit pricier than some of the other pubs outside of Zone 1, this pub has excellent food and a varied beer selection. The Sunday Roast was fabulous as was the Steak and Ale pie. I didn’t get to try the dessert since the kitchen closes early on Sundays but the service was fast and friendly. For cider lovers, they have a great variety including Strongbow, Bullmers, Jacques and more. Prices are a bit high and two entrees, and three ciders ran £25. However the food and service made up for it.

Small decent pub. Rather plain. Only stools in the main bar. Nice spiral staircase. Four handpumps(London Pride & Proud of Pubs) — two in use. Food served.

The Duke of York is a good pub to go to in the area in terms of good beer and service. It tends to get very busy(as do most bars in the area), but the staff are always friendly and try to serve you as soon as they can. Although its a small bar, they have three levels with a windy staircase that I would recommend avoiding after a few drinks! They have a pool table downstairs, and the area tends to be a lot quieter than upstairs. Although there is no beer garden, during the summer people tend to take their drinks outside and sit on the pavement.
