History

Established in 1999.

In 1976 The first DECATHLON store opens near Lille, France. Its aim, a first for the time, to offer a wide range of sports products in a self-​service setting at low prices.

In 1999 Opening of the first DECATHLON store in the United Kingdom, in Surrey Quays, London.

Opening of the first Oxylane Village, dedicated to creating a sports environment based around a DECATHLON store. The layout of these Oxylane Villages includes sports-​related businesses, activities for learning and/​or playing sports, and services such as sports seminaries, materials sourcing, etc…

In 2015 there are 18 DECATHLON across the UK!

Meet the Manager

Anne Sophie B.

Manager

Anne Sophie started in June 2009 in Saint Jean de Vedas store as Swimming/​Skiing and surfsports department manager. For her 3 years in Saint Jean de Vedas she has been swimming product instructor, layout instructor and Customer service Manager. In November 2012, Anne Sophie became Operation’s manager in Perpignan’s store before becoming store manager in training in March 2014.

At the end of last year, during Croydon’s implantation, our 2^nd store in London, the UK discovered her enthusiasm, her level of demand, her Decathlon’s values incarnation and her layout’s expertise.

Moreover during her complete path to become store manager, Anne Sophie has demonstrated her sense of organisation, her strictness, her reliability, her effort and her capacity to Manage a project, a team, a PnL.

A rich experience and good qualities make Anne sophie Bayle the right personality to grasp the challenge and succeed in the implantation of our 1^st store with 2 level, in a shopping center.
