The halloumi was gorgeous. But the rest of the salad it came with was a bit meh. And it was £10. Bit overpriced and very small portion! I’m sure their wine is lovely!

Its lucky this place got a star at all! I am a ‘Meeja’ type but I also know how to have fun and not talk about work ALL the time and this place really grates me! The only people that seem to be in here are the managers and such types that can afford to drink in this overpriced dark cave! This is defo a networking spot for the beeb but it seems like just the ones who are prepared to do ANYTHING to get the job they want and its really annoying to hear all that when you’ve just come out of work and want to have a laugh and a relaxing drink with fellow collegues.

The food is always of a consistent standard here, I don’t even know how often I have been here for lunch. Yes, it carries a premium and doesn’t have too much genuine ‘atmosphere’ but with a group you can make your own. Yes, it is full of meeja types but it is in the Media Centre.

Yeah, yeah, so it’s kind of ‘Top Gear’ meets ‘EastEnders’ kind of programme, right, so I was talking to Roly, and he said Sorry. The clientele in here are a bit meeja. They have long conversations about ridiculous things like that. And they’re a bit loud, so you need to really concentrate. Yeah, no, so, I spoke to JamesH, and he said I should speak to Anthony, but I can’t get into Anthony’s diary, he’s really busy, he said I could sort out a meeting for 8 o’clock, and I said ‘In the morning, right?’, and he said ‘No, in the evening,’ and I said ‘Yeah, right!’ but he was deadly serious and Sorry, sorry. They’ve still left their BBCID badges on, look. And they seem perfectly happy in here, even though the drinks are very expensive, it doesn’t serve anything approaching proper beer(except Whitstable Organic Ale in bottles), and even the chips are expensive. Hold on a second — is that James May? Cool! And wait a minute — if I sit out here can they see me on The One Show? It’s only filmed over there, look, you can see the studios. Hi mum! Got to go. And so should you. To somewhere that has some atmosphere and some idea of what a proper beer is and what it should cost. It’s not just due to the unique way that their clientele are funded, you know. No, you should go and find somewhere that’s slightly less full of meeja people called Tarquin with their BlackBerries and their lanyards and their silly haircuts. Walk down the road to Westfield if you want more sterilised sanitised overpriced stuff; or into Shepherd’s Bush for a proper pub or two.

Nice bar and very convenient for workers in the BBC Media Village. The food is delicious and I can personally recommend the chips and the Cumberland sausage rolls. There’s a small function room which is handy for office parties, etc. I’d like to give four stars but the big minus point is the high prices especially of drinks!
