If Davenheath were the only security company in the world and a crazed horde was threatening to break into your house, I’d still advise you to just put a chair behind the door and hope for the best.
My alarm was going off randomly so I needed someone to come around, diagnose the problem and fix it. The Davenheath engineer came, diagnosed a faulty battery, changed it, I paid him for the call-​out fee and the battery and he left.
The alarm was still going off randomly — exactly the same as before, so I called them and asked if they could come out again to see what they’d missed. Sure, I was told, but you’ll have to pay us again if you want us to come out again.
After several phone calls with the jaw-​droppingly rude lady at Davenheath I gave up trying to point out that this wasn’t very fair — I’ve paid you to come out and fix it and you’ve come out, been paid and not fixed it. She scoffed at the idea that they should then come out again to see what they’d missed without being paid another call-​out fee.
In the end I got another company around who found out it was a problem with the bell box on the outside of the house, replaced it and the problem was solved.
You’d be better off just accepting that people will break into your house and steal all your possessions than wasting time and money dealing with this awful company.
