Daniel Galvin in Marylebone is an award-wining salon with a reputation for being one of the most trusted places to go for the best hair colouring and superior hairdressing. With over 100 employees, Daniel Galvin provides first class hairdressing on two beautifully designed floors. The salon’s mantra is ‘Natural Beauty Enhancement’ which is something that the stylists, colourists and in-house beauticians adhere to; honing their skills to helping their clients to realise their beauty potential. The majority of colourists and stylists are organically-grown, having started their training with Daniel when they were in their teens.
History
Established in 1977.
In 1977, Daniel Galvin left Leonard to open his first salon on George Street in Marylebone; the same street where he can be found to this day. The Daniel Galvin Salon was Europe’s first specialist colour salon and it was here that Daniel began training a new generation of specialist colourists, many of whom have gone on to become some of the biggest names within the industry.
Meet the Business Owner
Daniel G.
Business Owner
Daniel started in the industry over 50 years ago when he first became fascinated by hair colour and its power to transform the way we look. This was the era of swinging London, and Vidal Sassoon was revolutionising the world of haircutting. Daniel decided to make it his mission to do the same for hair colour.
The passion Daniel has for the hairdressing industry is evident in the way that he is always keen to develop new colour techniques. His key philosophy is to ‘Enhance Natural Beauty,’ believing that it is not his job as a hairdresser to change a client beyond recognition, but instead to focus his techniques on boosting what the client already has. His celebrated ‘brickwork technique’ which has been picked up by salons throughout the world, is a testament to this philosophy; concentrating on the natural flow of the hair with refined methods to avoid block colour and high maintenance.
