Cuppacha Bubble Tea

Useful tip: this place only takes cash. The teas are consistently good and you can choose the amount of sugar and ice you want in your drink. The grass jelly is also a nice and smooth jelly and they give you a big scoop. It can get pricey depending on how many ingredients you choose but it’s well worth it.

Stopped in for a taro milk tea. It’s great that you can customize your drink to sweetness level and temperature, like a proper Taiwanese tea joint, but wasn’t blown away by the quality of the drink. Not hot enough and there wasn’t a whole lot of flavor. I don’t have any qualms with the artificial bubble tea powder a lot of places use for their flavored drinks, but this place either doesn’t use enough or it wasn’t very fresh. Service was fairly fast, though.

Delicious milk tea and great service. You can choose level of sugar and ice. I usually want slight sugar since I prefer a stronger tea flavor.

I love Cuppacha! They are always friendly and efficient, and never get grumpy when you’re with someone who doesn’t know what they want: P I have always, without fail, gotten a delicious bubble tea from these guys!

The one I had was watermelon Bubble Tea with yoghurt balls. This place has alot of variety and its reasonably priced too.

This bubble tea place is one of many in Chinatown and would probably be rated average in my opinion. The tea is good and I like how customisable everything is, but the actual drinks are nothing extraordinary. The shop is very small and always extremely crowded by customers. You may end up waiting around 10 minutes for your drink and you can’t lose your receipt or else you can’t claim your drink. I come here because it’s easy to find in Chinatown and convenient to grab a drink but I’d prefer somewhere else if I find a better bubble tea shop.

The earl grey milk tea is great. They give a good portion of tapioca pearls that are not overcooked. Lots of choices and selection. My favourite in London so far.

I love bubble tea, mostly with the traditional tapioca pearl, but also with a variety of jellies. I’m not a big fan of the popping liquid pearls though, so I usually steer clear of them. But I’m getting way off topic here, so back to business!
I was walking by this shop on my way home from the cinema and just had to stop and get a cup of goodness.
I chose a coconut flavour milk tea with tapioca pearl. Usually that’s a pretty safe bet, but they did manage to get it wrong, very wrong. I asked for ¾ sugar, but it managed to taste too sweet and to bitter at the same time. They also filled way too much ice in with the hot tea, so the cup was still warm when I got it and the tea very watery within a few minutes. The melting ice cubes also kept travelling up the large straw, which was rather unpleasant.
So all in all, they either had a really bad night or simply don’t do bubble tea well. I probably won’t be coming back here.

Walked past and saw the long line, so I decided to check it out! Got the regular milk tea with no toppings and ¼ sugar. Not sure if the tea flavor or milk powder wasn’t strong enough, but the tea was a bit watery to me. Their menu is really extensive though, so you’ll probably be able to find something you like!

So I love this bubble tea place and still think it’s 5 stars! I just felt I should update my review since the other one was almost two years old!
Bubble tea is all the rage but not all bubble tea is equal ! So don’t be fooled! This place is great! They use real tea and milk and it taste amazing ! None of that chemical fake sugars junk you might get at other more western bubble tea places…
Today I got a iced kumquat green tea with tapioca balls and as usual it was delicious and full or flavour!
They also do their drinks with bubbles WARM, which I had tried and is great on a winters day!

One of the questions I will always say yes to is ‘would you like a cup of tea’. Which is why when my friend asked to go grab some bubble tea I said yes. I had tried bubble tea before and was not very impressed but I thought I’d give it another go as since then I have started having milk in my tea and trying out different flavours.
We decided to go to Cuppacha as our other friend really likes it and after I went through the menu several times I decided on the Rose Milk Tea with the tapioca beans. Unfortunately they had just run out as apparently the flavour is quite popular with women so I switched to hazelnut instead.
As a flavour I thought it was a bit on the sweet side, with a burnt flavour in it that I was not sure if it was intentional or not. The bubbles however, I really was unable to get past. To me they just feel unnatural and like those things kids under 3 are not supposed to swallow.
My friends suggested that I try the bubbles that burst and have sweet liquid inside or the jelly next time and I am determined to do so. They insist that bubble tea is more of an acquired taste and I do think that it must be true for it to be so popular.
I am definitely up for going back to find the right flavour combination for me so I can enjoy that mysterious tea phenomenon and I will most certainly keep you posted about it but in general I would in fact recommend trying it out and visiting this particular shop as it is quite cute and very popular with bubble tea lovers.

We randomly found this place after seeing that chatime had no pearls for the bubble tea. I got the cuppacha pearl milk tea with half sugar. It was delicious and flavorful. The pearls were chewy and flavorful also. I always keep coming back here during my stay in London because it was always good every time.
You can customize your drink with temperature, sugar, and type of bubbles you want which can be suited to anyone’s taste.

Very cute little shop across from a ji dan zai/​baozi stand and the sheet mask store. Great boba, price isn’t bad. Get the taro boba. And thank you to the people working their that helped me find another place in chinatown when I was asking for directions! Very friendly and good boba in a cute boba shop with a great location, can’t do better. Def recommend this place and will be back when back in london.

I have to say Cuppacha do the best bubble tea in town! There are so many bubble tea shop around and this is my favourite! They are not only authentic but they are the only one that I can taste real «Tea» taste in the bubble tea. As a tea lover, I wanted to drink a bubble tea with real tea in it instead if just some fancy name or colourful drink with pearl. Therefore I go with my taste bud instead of following the queue in the other place that claim world chain but got disappoint by bad service and watery tasteless bubble tea. There is queue here too but staff are really friendly and helpful.
Price wise…3.25 for normal and 3.75 for large including pearl… I think is cheapest in town… most important is they always remind me what pearl/​topping I want in my tea!
You can find so many authentic flavour here that you see in Taiwan… Which make me so difficult to decide what I want everytime and this is also one of the reason make me keep coming back to here to try out other flavour.
The pearl is cook to perfection… Sweet and chewy. I find that I really enjoy biting each one of them.

I have to add one more point here too… My husband didn’t like bubble tea he think that is a girly thing but I converted him with their oolong pearl milk tea!!! LOL

Cuppacha is a wonderful little shop with friendly staff and has become my regular place to go for a fix of bubble tea in Chinatown. The menu is broad with many combinations of milk or fruit teas with various toppings.
Usually I go for the classic mixtures of matcha red bean milk tea, taro milk tea or matcha egg pudding milk tea. What I like about Cuppacha is the flexibility to customise the drinks on sugar and ice levels to make them slightly healthier and nicer to drink!
On this warm evening I wanted to try something different so chose the Yakult green tea with the recommended topping of lychee jelly. It was a good change, the tea tasted fruity with a nice bouncy texture of the lychee jelly.
Pricing at £3.25 for medium and £3.75 large is competitive, the shop also has a loyalty card to collect points for a free drink. I used to frequent chatime on old Compton street regularly but since their refurbishment the prices have risen noticeably they started to charge extra for toppings. On the last visit at chatime my combination was almost £6, an amount I choose not to pay for just a bubble tea especially as I can find bubble tea that tastes better at a fraction of the price from cuppacha.

Bubble tea was great but I think it was pretty crappy not to give me a cup of tap water for my 4 year old on a hot day. Why be stingy with something that’s free when I’m already buying something?

I didn’t feel like braving the queue at Chatime so came to Cuppacha instead. Having passed by this shop more times than I can remember, I feel like I should apologise to the owners for not giving it a chance earlier but still would not pick it as my first choice.
Their grass jelly roast oolong milk tea was delicious but not as rich as Chatime’s similar house special. This may be because when ordering cold drinks, the staff mix the drink in a cocktail shaker but pour ice cubes into the serving cup. As the ice melts, the tea gets thinner and thinner, not to mention that eventually the ice cubes will be small enough to travel up the thick straws designed for the grass jelly or bubbles.
The menu does look rather extensive though and I wouldn’t say no to some of the more difficult to source teas available. The staff are friendly and you can personalise your drink’s sugar levels a little more than at Chatime. For grass jelly tea, especially the roasted kind, I’d stick with Chatime. Just make sure you can spare the 35 minutes: P

I’ve been looking for a good bubble tea place to frequent in London and I finally found this place.
Ordered the White Peach Oolong with pearls and it was amazing! The tea was perfect, the pearls were soft, the drink overall was just great. My boyfriend ordered their milk tea and it was also really good.
I will definitely be coming back — good thing they give out loyalty cards :)

I’ve been cruel to bubble tea. Outright dismissive of the concept, the product, the establishments, and generally haven’t given these places a change.
THIS is the place that changed all that however. There are no prices on the board, but they feel sensible. Other popular places such as Boba Jam will charge close to £5 for a basic milk tea. This place is closer to £3 for a standard milk tea with bubbles of course. The flavour is great. Packaging attractive and the bubbles are really soft and you get loads. They’ll also create whatever non-​standard drink you want and add an arbitrary charge on top, which doesn’t feel like they’re following any formula, but more importantly feels fair. It’s not like a pizza place adding £1.50 per additional topping and only giving you 5 grams of tuna. More like 50p per additional ingredient. Sensible.
There isn’t much seating in this place, and the seating area could be a little cleaner, but I’m happy to come here after a meal in Soho. Note that after meal times the place does get rammed, but the queue quickly clears. Additionally they let you collect stamps on behalf of other members in your group. Good stuff. I’ll be back again. And I’ll like it.
The only downside is the 50p surcharge on card payments, so have cash to hand.

Fantastico bubble tea place. The pearls are cooked on point with the right tendency of chewiness and softness.
Red date tea is great, green tea with red bean also a top, as well as other variations. There’s a charge on using card unless you spend £5 or more. Also get their stamp cards!
