Covent Garden

Absolutely lovely open shopping area in the heart of London, next door to the Apple Store. We were there early for our walking tour, so not all of the merchants had opening their stalls, but what we did see was a variety of homemade items, from clothing to artwork.
Covent Garden once housed the farmer’s market, so the center is open and airy, with glass ceilings that let in light.
Fun place to visit, with eateries to boot. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, too!

Covent Garden is a nice little shopping area that has a variety of stores, restaurants and things to do. They have very cute boutique stores offering great gifts to take home. You can find things like preserves, cutesy random toys and trinkets and ice cream. During the colder months there is also a little stand that sells mulled wine and in the past, I’ve heard there was a large decorated tree, but not any more. There is also an abundance of touristy things to buy.
I like how open the market feels and the design of the different floors. It’s a nice place to just walk around and people watch.
The drop off area is weird, like the road just stops, and there is a line of taxis in the middle of the street. It makes it awkward to get dropped off and picked up if that’s your thing.

Covent Garden has to be my favorite spot in London!
Almost at the heart of central London, Despite of its small size, its marketplace is a great place to dine, shop, or simply people-​watch. No matter why you are there, you will always find yourself immense in a festive, relaxing atmosphere that is filled with opera singing or whatever street performance is happening.

Whether at day or night, Covent Garden is perfect at anytime. The restaurants here are be as chill as Shake Shack or classy as a sit-​down restaurant, and the shopping here can be reasonably priced despite being in such a popular area. I highly recommend visiting here one day during your London visit.

It’s a must for tourists, and as such is over-​crowded. However if you are a worshipper of the cult of apple the Covent Garden store is a reasonable size, though obviously not the largest (see Regent’s street for that) and provides a welcome break from the crowds of Covent Garden. Personally I am a fan of the impromptu (I think) opera performances in the lower part of the market. Though I find the number of street performers frustrating as the area is too small to have so many people milling around for so long. There are a good variety of shops (including the Moomin shop!) and the clubs around here are fine if you have too much money and feel the need to spend it.

Sure, it’s a touristy area, but it’s a must for any London visitor (muuuuuuuch better than the über-​touristy hellhole of Leicester Square). The busy piazza is very well-​kept and pretty, and there’s always some performance or festival going on so it’ll never feel monotonous. It’s essentially an elaborate outdoor mall/​market and you’re sure to find some store or restaurant you’ll like. If you’re visiting London, GO!

Covent Garden is without a doubt one of my favourite spots in London and never is it more beautiful than at Christmas time. Filled with unique decorations, a LARGE silver reindeer and a beautiful Christmas tree, you really can’t help but feel jolly and festive.
You can find yourself getting really wrapped up in the ambience, no matter what the occasion. Always boasts a number of unique stalls, which suits Londoners and tourists alike.
One of my favourite spots is ‘21’, an outdoor pizzeria, which reminds me of being in London as a child with my Dad, I’d definitely recommend giving it a go if you can get a seat! Also, the new burger go to, Shake Shack, is great for a quicker bite to eat.
At it’s best, Covent Garden can be a beehive of activity, with up to three levels of shops, bars, pubs and restaurants to explore.

I’m sorry to say that I only arrived here about 30 minutes before closing. I really loved the classier «flea-​market» feel it had. I loved the trinkets and unique gifts I could find here. It was hard for me to move from booth to booth, wanting to see as much of the wares as each vendor had. A must-​visit place. Come with cash as many vendors don’t take card.
