Great Friday night dinner place that takes reservations on Opentable — I was craving Caribbean and had spotted this place last time I was browsing through Boxpark — made a booking for dinner with friends — seated right away. They had great selection of Caribbean beers and easy to understand menu with stalwarts like jerk chicken and Trinidadan fish curry. friends got the platter which was humongous and came with a lot of food. Other friends got roti which looked amazing and tasted good as well(so they say). I got the Trinidad fish curry which was the right amount of spice and jerk chicken which wasnt the best I have ever had but is pretty solid

I love food courts and this is a nice one. They were playing Sean Paul so it brought us back thousands of years. It was warm and got you in the mood for partying. Cocktails were plain bad, served on plastic glasses… I know we went it for happy hour but were serving others in regular glasses if they didn’t order drinks from the happy hour menu… Not nice even if we are paying less, not nice

Massive food portions! A starter was the size of a main course. I eat a lot of food and i was also with two guys who both thought the portions were big. Tasty food and good atmosphere(although potentially the music was a bit too loud at that time to be able to have a normal conversation over dinner). Good selection of cocktails.

Went here with a party of 15 and it’s a great spot for a group. The place isn’t so big so it doesn’t get too loud where everyone is shouting. Ambiance is nice. The good was Ok. Ordered the chicken skewer and there was nothing«jerked» about it in terms of flavor except the sticky glaze they put on top. Otherwise, very dry. The plantains were very dry too. The ox tail stew is all bones so i would not recommend ordering. The beef stew is plenty in portion and legit beef. If you’re a meat eater, I would suggest that. But the«dumpling» that comes with that is super dry and not really the traditional dumpling we’re used to with filling inside… it’s just battered/fried dough, that’s it.

Cottons Rhum Shack is a Caribbean style restaurant setup in Boxpark as a street food market. It’s more like a mini restaurant as there is ample seating indoors and outdoors. The outdoor area is nice as there are heatlamps so even if it’s winter outside you’re not freezing in the outdoor space. The inside is decorated well, much better than their permanent location in Exmouth market. We came in a group of 16 so lots of people at one time… there was one prep person and one chef in the back(you can clearly see the kitchen from the tables) and was amazed they were able to bring the food out fairly quickly for our group. I ordered the Oxtail stew. See photos — it tasted good, however, there were bones everywhere. I know it’s an oxtail however I would have expected more meat — it was unfortuantely mostly bones! My friend ordered the beef stew with dumplings — his dish was a far better choice. Lots of shredded beef — so much he couldn’t even finish it! It was however, a bit dry and needed lots of sauce. Service was good — we had a new server who said it was his 2nd day on the job and he did a good job. Food was OK — worth going if it’s a group setting but not a destination restaurant for me.

Get the plaintain fritter things; fantastic. Portions aren’t huge so don’t come here starving. Also, talk to the staff in the kitchen — very fun :)
