The Constructive Translations team have engineering qualifications such as civil engineering and mechanical engineering. We have complete understanding of complex technical terminology.

We use cutting edge software throughout our projects. This provides consistency, a history for the client in question and project management capability.

History

Established in 2013.

In fact, the company founder David Smith has worked as a freelance translator since 2003. David studied Physics and Astronomy at University College London. David then spent ten years in China where he studied civil engineering. He returned to London where he obtained a Masters degree in Technical Translation at Imperial College London.

Since being established Constructive Translations has hired in technically qualified people with the unique engineering skills required to help clients with their projects.

Meet the Business Owner

David S.

Business Owner

David was born in the UK, and studied Physics and Astronomy at University College London, graduating in 1997. After this he lived in the China for almost a decade. During his stay in Beijing, David completed a graduate programme Civil Engineering. He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Technical Translation at Imperial College London.

Since graduating David has worked full-​time as a freelance translator focusing on technical translations from Chinese to English. David is a member of the Institute of Linguists and of the Institute of Translators and Interpreters. He enjoys combining his two main passions — engineering and Chinese language — for his work.
