I came in for dinner one night while I stayed at the Doubletree hotel. This restaurant was chosen by my business partner solely because I was staying at this hotel and I didn’t have to walk in cold weather. View from this restaurant was so beautiful, the river and Canary Wharf, it would be romantic to dine here. Service was prompt and friendly. Although we didn’t go but when my business partner asked the staff about local night clubs nearby, they went out of the way to look up information for us. They have good drink selection and I was pleased with a bottle of wine I selected. Food was average but I just flew in from Rome that afternoon, so what can I say? Make reservations and request for window seat of you want beautiful city and river view

Columbia Restaurant is awkwardly located nearish to Canada Water and wouldn’t be somewhere I would venture for dinner. Saying that however if staying at the hotel you would be foolish not to take advantage of the location and have a meal with the stunning view over the river to the Wharf, and really what makes this place is that view. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive and the food was good too however very pricey for what it was. All in all I wouldn’t return but would recommend the steaks with the red wine jus for main for anyone in the area!

A very beautifully presented restaurant /bar on the edge of double tree hotel. The bar it’s self is lovely for small to medium sized groups and has great lighting. Was a good ‘classy’ sports viewing area. The restaurant isn’t actually Caribbean so if you are expecting jerk like chicken, rice and coriander don’t come here. It’s pretty much a steak and chips restaurant with hotel level prices. There are burgers and a couple of other options available too(curry risotto with cod, lamb rump with kidney beans and a potato cake and a vegetarian pasta). Oh and you can order burgers. There are a number of starters such as salt and pepper squid, mushrooms on toast and crab on toast which are lovely but the flavours don’t really all go with each other if you are sharing. I think the décor(minus a really random white sculpture thing) is far nicer than the food. You definitely pay hotel level prices that suit the setting but I think for the quality of the food they are a little high. The staff are excellent.

Though the Columbia Restaurant is a bit out of the way, the journey is totally worth it for the good food and even better views. I had a veggie burger(without the cheese) made with quinoa and beans and it was DELICIOUS. The chips that came with it were also on the thinner side, like American fries, so I was very pleased about that(though the fries that came with other entrees were thicker British-style chips). The roasted almonds as a starter were also phenomenal, but I may have been very hungry. The service was stellar; my wine glass was always full. All in all, this would be a nice dinner out with a group of people(like in my case) as well as for a date. In the warmer weather, it appears that they may have outdoor seating on their terrace. Lovely dinner, lovely time, would recommend!

I had an excellent dinner at Columbia restaurant. What a great find! Firstly, it’s right on the river and has spectacular views. Secondly, the service was outstanding — everyone was so attentive and friendly! And being American, it is rare that I commend customer service abroad. The food was brilliant — I had a rib-eye steak to die for. The calamari was tasty(and I generally don’t like seafood) and I had cheesecake for dessert, which was scrumptious. We also had cocktails outside and it was a formidable experience. I will absolutely come back to Columbia and bring lots of friends to spread the wealth!
