Antique Prints from around 1750 – 1950, we only have genuine, authenticated items. We have a wide selection of Animal, Bird, Botanical (especially Orchids), Fashion and Nursery Prints. For sale singly or especially in themed, matching sets, ideal for stylish interior design projects. We have around 20,000 antique prints at any one time, although we are unable to display all of them at once. Our Antique Nursery Print selection includes Babar the Elephant, Beatrix Potter, Classic Pooh Bear, Flower Fairies and Alice in Wonderland. The Vintage fashion print section ranges from hand coloured Georgian and Victorian fashion plates to Art Deco prints from the 1920’s and 1930’s. Our extensive natural history selection includes copper plate engravings, hand colored engravings and brightly coloured chromolithographs, featuring decorative birds and animals, pretty flowers and especially groups of prints with a matching look or theme that are ideally suited to hang as sets.

History

Established in 1986.

The business began in Alfies Antique Market in north west London back in the mid 1980’s. It was hard breaking into the antiques business at 21 years old when all your competitors are a generation or two older than you! However I spent the first 10 years traveling around the Uk, doing antiques or interior design shows in many of England’s beautiful country houses! … so all good fun and here we are around 25 years later, established as one of a handful of large antique print dealers in the world. Our business is now mostly online, however we stall out at Portobello market every week on a saturday because I love the atmosphere and you can’t beat the face to face interaction with customers and enthusiasts (which is something I miss with the online side of the business). As well as this some old (and new) customers like to pass by and say hello when they are in London!

Trading in Antique Prints at Portobello Antiques Market every saturday for almost 20 years now and still lovin’ it. Easy to recognise as I’ll be wearing a safari hat just like all our members of staff. Outside work I love walking my dog, drinking coffee and exploring the wonderful city of London.
