I used to work in Victoria and my love for good coffee saw me trying all of the local coffee houses avoiding the chains wherever possible as sadly they offer mostly bad coffee in the chains in this area. This place is a little gem hidden at the back of Cardinal Place, so close to Victoria station. Their coffee is the best in the area by miles and the staff are always really smiley, welcoming and polite. I used to love going here on my lunch break and the cheese and tomato toasties are worth a try too! They offer free samples of their cake of the day… the green cake is much better than it looks, honest!

At a time when chains are everywhere (and former one-​offs are becoming chains), it’s good to see an independent place that does things well. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the coffee is excellent.
The place favours function over style to a certain extent, but that’s part of the appeal: Good, coffee in a modern, unpretentious setting. If you’re a genuine coffee lover then this place is for you.
