Description

Specialties

Climpson’s Arch is the home of Climpson and Sons Roastery as well as a multi-purpose fully licensed venue for dining, drinking, music and events. Climpson’s Arch has been a natural progression of our interest in crafting artisan products and a welcoming venue for the local community.

History

Established in 2011.

When Climpson’s Arch began as a place to house a new roaster for Climpson and Sons growing coffee output in 2012, owner Ian Burgess’s vision was to utilise the railway arch space to create a platform for young chefs to show off their talents. «Chefs are rarely seen outside their isolated kitchen restaurant environment. Here, chefs can assert their talent, interact with the customers and get back to basics with food and fire.»

After a successful summer season collaborating with Dave Pynt for Burnt Enz in 2012, Climpson’s Arch gained it’s licence as a permanent venue for 2013. Building 3 tonne, dual-cavity wood fired ovens and a kitchen in a shipping container, the Arch partnered with Licky Chop by Lucky Chip to take over the chef duties for 2013. In 2014, Climpson’s Arch will be presenting their own series of food events.
