Maybe it was just my lack of recent Mexican food — but this place hit the spot. We also had a fairly late lunch, closer to 3pm than 12pm, which allowed for a more casual service atmosphere. Very much like Chipotle, so quick service pre-made ingredients pushed together. But — good flavors, well made, and very quick. The regular burritos were massive, plenty of food for even dinner I’d think. Smaller options were available if that’s needed. This place had actual flavor — so not the normal bland lunch option. Definitely a key lunch option: quick, good food, decent price.

I really enjoyed my meal at Chilango. Recently moving from the states, I was looking for a ‘mexican fix’. I tried another chain burrito place but it simply didn’t scratch my itch. It was bland and the people were not interested in helping me figure out how everything worked while ordering. Chilango had a few simple options and both mine and my partner in crime had a successful result. My craving was very much satisfied with a huge portion of rice, beans, veggies, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole. They have big refrigerators out where you can see them with the fresh ingredients. I thought that was a nice touch to be able to see where the food we were eating was coming from. It maybe wasn’t the most warm environment to sit and enjoy our meal, but it did the trick. I will be back soon I am sure!

The promotional signage claimed they were«voted the number 1 Mexican restaurant», whatever that means, so I decided to try their chicken burrito. They use a mcdonalds style ordering system, which felt very rushed and didn’t allow any variations in the way salads in the way Wahacca or Tortilla do. The only choices were the heat(mild medium or spicy) plus sour cream, cheese or guacamole. The burrito itself wasn’t bad, but it was strange how the fillings hadn’t been evenly distributed, so it began with a layer of beans, followed by chicken, then rice. I went for the medium heat, and it didn’t have any trace of spiciness. The size was a bit small considering the £6 price. Next time I’ll go to Tortilla and get my burrito made exactly how I want.

What’s going on Erik? Quality has dropped immensely since introducing the McDonalds fast food technique here! Visiting this branch of Chilango has become a gruelling experience with little reward at the end. Such a shame :(

CHILANGO — For all you Gabacho’s that’s how we refer people from«DF» aka Mexico City Nothing on this menu says«DF» in fact it’s more like a knock off of Chipotle, funny thing is the two founders of Chilango is a Gabacho from the U.S. and a Brit and they can’t even pronounce the name correctly, if you watch the video on their webpage. Started off with some Chips & Salsa(£1.00) they come pre-bagged NOFREE chips and salsa here! Low Carb Box(£5.99) Black Beans, Chicken, Salsa, Cheese, Lettuce/Cabbage and a couple Chips it was a bit bland, perhaps due to the low carb? 3-Stars The box comes with a Lemonade not bad! Burrito Steak(£?) Steak, Rice, Black Beans, «Hot» Salsa, Sour Cream and Cheese first bite *(sorry photo is a bit blurry) I thought I heard a Mooooo, the meat was so RARE! #FAIL sent it back! If you’re clueless to what REAL Mexican food is, perhaps you’ll like it! this place can use some help
AVG: 1.5-Stars rounding down due to the RARE Steak!

This place has been missing from my life for too long. All I can say is WOW! I’ve tried burritos from other chains, but they all pale in comparison to the one I had last night. The chicken burrito with medium salsa was packed full or flavour and it didn’t dribble juice all down my arms like the others I’ve had. They don’t seem to offer as many variations as other places but I can’t be certain since the burrito is made further away from the counter rather than along the front like at some other chains. From what I can tell there’s just the one rice and the server asked if I wanted black beans rather than offering an alternative(but I wanted black beans anyway). Perhaps they know their recipe is good so why offer variations with peppers or other beans. It’s a bit more expensive than other places, but now I know it’s worth the extra £1. But I can’t justify £1.50 guacamole. Darn, now I wish I could go back for lunch today! My new favourite fast food.

War sehr lecker, habe einen Salat mit Schweinefleisch gegessen. Stylisch gemachter Laden und der Preis war auch ok. Durchaus zu empfehlen.
