Chelsea Kitchen

I have to say I was not thrilled. I went there for lunch thinking I could use the Unilocal 20% offer (I had checked in and activated it) but apparently it cannot be used on lunch specials — even though the review I read here in Unilocal said they did!
Anyway food was mediocre — crisps were lukewarm and the fish cake was not great either. Service was slow and messy. Luckily they made a very good espresso so at least I did not leave completely unhappy. Overall not satisfying, I will not go back as there are many more interesting options on the area.

The fried brie and cranberry sauce is sooo good! Definitely worth trying. First time I came I had the fish and chips, which were pretty good. Second time, I had one of their pastas which was okay. I had to wait around thirty minutes for it, and when it came, it was a bit dry and needed some sort of seasoning or added flavour to it. The great thing about this place is it’s decently priced and definitely affordable, which is a great find amidst all the poshness of Chelsea.
I asked to use the Unilocal 20% offer, and the guy first brought me the wifi password, which wasn’t what I asked for but I mean wifi is always nice. When I got the bill I asked again, and he told me I couldn’t use it because it was a Sunday. The offer’s only limitation was not on a match day, and it wasn’t a match day that day.

I met a friend in the area the other night and was über hungry, so of course I consulted my Unilocal app to tell me where to go. Literally 20 steps away was TCK and the reviews seemed positive. Additionally, they had a 20% off offer for checking in, so added bonus! Theeen even MORE added bonus was the 2 or 3 course specials! I ordered the chicken casserole and lemon & sugar pancakes for dessert for a whopping £7.95. The main dish was a very generous serving and was delicious. Was filled to the brim after the main dish, but had to make room for the dessert that was still coming, which wasn’t a let down either! Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and excellent prices. Would definitely recommend it.

Chelsea Kitchen is an absolute find on Fulham Road. Surrounded by super posh and upscale restaurants, Chelsea Kitchen is not only budget friendly, but also serves pretty solid food. My friend and I decided to venture here for a proper breakfast, being that both of us are from North America, she being Canadian and myself American, we wanted to find somewhere where we could have the full breakfast experience. Albeit we we may have been a little hung over, this place has the cure.
We were seated promptly at a table for two and were immediately given our menus. After a quick deliberation we both settled on our breakfast, full English for her and ham and cheese omelet for me. The food was promt and delicious. Of course, if you are expecting a 5 star breakfast this place is not for you, but for under a tenner total, you really can’t beat it. It also helps that they have a great check in offer – 20% off your first order. This is definitely a place to go back to.

Not good food. I came here last night with a friend. I had the fried brie with cranberry sauce to start. The cranberry sauce was clearly from a tin, and it all came served on an old wilted lettuce leaf. For the main I had the chicken Sunday roast (as it was a Sunday). What a let-​down. I expect a roast to be decently-​sized, but this was pathetic it was so small. One lousy piece of chicken, about 2 pieces of broccoli, a few slices of carrot, 3 small roast potatoes, all swimming in a gloppy gravy, and that’s it.
The service was terrible, the waiters all just seemed to hang around the kitchen chatting and generally ignoring everyone. When we’d finished our starters we had to practically jump up and wave our arms about 15 minutes later to get them to clear the course and bring the main, which still took ages. Same thing when we were finished and wanted the bill. I also had to ask three times for tap water for us before it was brought.
The pepper on the table is also powdered, which I never take to be a good sign. Pepper must be cracked black pepper.
Altogether it reminded me of the food we would get served en masse at a bad party where someone skimped massively on the catering.
I certainly won’t be back by choice.

We have been coming to TCK since it was re-​opened on its current location.
It is a great place with a very good atmosphere that always invites you to come back. It is a cozy place very good value for money. Totally recommended!

This place is a little like the Mona Lisa on the Kings Road about the same standards cheap nosh up-​market greasy spoon good little sub £10 set menu nice location friendly atmosphere service can be a bit dippy but all in all if you want a cheap place for a bite with friends you could do no worse then try this place.

I came here with my cousin in Sept. 2011. It might be the most economical restaurant in the Chelsea area; I think my soup cost about 3 quid. The food was alright if not memorable. Overall, it’s nice to stumble across a cozy diner where you’d least expect it. If I lived in Chelsea, I’m sure this would become a regular haunt for curling up with coffee and a good book by the window.
Afterwards, one could go for a stroll in the nearby Brompton Cemetery, and gaze with contemplation upon the grave of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.

Good value and nice atmosphere, but the food is only average.

Very good place to go on King’s road. Atmosphere was great and the feeling was great. The food was very good quality and the price was great value, especially for this area of London. The service was also professional and you feel respected in the restaturant.

This place offer great value for money! A good lunch time place, quite unlike the normal Chelsea restaurant that you will find along King’s Road.
Service is normally quick and good. The internal décor is old style and nothing fancy.

The fame of the chelsea kitchen made me imagine something far different from the chelsea kitchen that i actually experienced.
The tradition is its main selling point, the chelsea kitchen seems to be an institution, dont go here expecying a posh meal or plush surroundings, its more doen to earth than that, you may describe its as scruffy, or dated. There’s wooden benches and old marked tables downstairs is quite dark and there’s bottles of ketchup on the tables.
The food though is wholesome, the portions are big although it can be a bit on the heavy side the options are traditional cottage pie, burgers etc but they do have specials too.
The prices are good and the service prompt you can go here often for lunch and soon feel like a local and that you belong.
