Most disappointing food and service and extremely overpriced. We ordered vegetarian soup for my wife. I was very clear with the waitress that my wife was a strict vegetarian which meant no meat and no seafood. In fact, no eggs either. They not only brought a completely different soup which did not even look like the mushroom soup we had ordered, my wife started eating(she did not want to question the look of the soup) only to find two prawns floating at the bottom. The waitress apologized saying the chef had made a mistake but did not explain why she could not recognize the fact that it was not the soup we had ordered. When they eventually brought what we actually had ordered, they did not even bother to maintain the relationship by giving a free desert or not charging for the soup. In the U.S., any good restaurant would have not charged for that soup. What if my wife was allergic to seafood and had difficulty breathing or something? The Panang curry barely had any curry. It had all been soaked up by the tofu. When we asked if they could bring more curry since there was no curry to eat with our rice, we were to it would be another order of the curry. Unbelievable! I will never enter this place or recommend anyone ever.

Had lunch at Chaopraya yesterday… here are my thoughts: Ambiance: This rather large restaurant was nearly empty at 1:30 pm, which caused us a bit of concern, but after we sat down several people followed. It was still VERY quiet which is surprising for the busy area. Overall the restaurant is nicely decorated and seems clean, which is an obvious plus. Service: Very slow. It took a while to get our drinks — we had to ask a few times. And this is when the restaurant is empty! But servers are friendly. Food: I had the salmon bento which was overall decent. The rice was a bit dry, the tom yum was good but the shrimp was rubbery, the vegetables were a bit overcooked but the salmon was tasty. Other people in my party were happy with their food — the halibut in a banana leaf, the giant prawn with pad thai. Maybe I just ordered poorly? Price: This place is very $$$$ for what it is. The bill for 1 bento, one fish entrée, pad thai, and a bottle of still water was 100 pounds. Overall: We won’t be back as there are too many better places in London that aren’t AS overpriced.

This place is amazing. I always need to get my fix each visit to London. Their Pad Thai is different but the best I’ve had — and I’m obsessed w Thai food. This is definitely a more upscale Thai place. Crab spring rolls and egg drop soup amazing as well. Satay portion was small.

Lunch Value for money. We had a quick lunch. I was there with my gym insteuctor! So couldn’t order much as I didn’t want eat lot in front of her… Thai green curry with beef was great. The beef wasn’t cooked nicely as it was chewy, but the curry was seasoned well! Whole experience was exquisite as how they treat food is done decently. The coconut ice cream was worth having. I’m assuming this was made originally. It wasn’t heavy, kinda gelato texturized coconut ice cream which flaked coconut was good idea. One thing I was very surprised is… Tea. Craft tea. Normally craft tea(jasmine tea ball with flowers after the blew) is only for visual amusement but not for aroma and or flavor. The craft tea they served had intensive jasmine aroma and flavor! It’s very unusual! Curry+tea+ice cream(shared with this instructor… Of course)=£23 I’d like to come back again. I’d like to try other things.

Excellent Thai food with some interesting menu options, yet surprisingly not busy. Good, friendly service. Only downside is that prices are higher than average.

Why isn’t this place busier? My sister and I went to EATTHAI for New Year’s Eve dinner at the last minute. We were surprised to find the restaurant empty on a holiday. We worried that this was a sign of bad food and/or service, but we were happy to discover that we were wrong! The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly. The menu was huge and had a lot of options. It took us a while to decide. Both of us were very happy with our decisions! If you enjoy creative Thai food, this is definitely a place to try!

I thought this place was great. I visited here several times while studying abroad in London. I preferred my experience in the evening, instead of lunch, only because the restaurant was far more active. The appetizers were good and the soups were also very tasty. As far as a main dish, if you like lamb, you have to order the lamb curry. My favorite dish by far! On all 3 occasions I ordered the same dish. It always filled me up and never left me disappointed. The meals that others ordered all looked fantastic and apparently tasted just as they appeared. The downstairs dining room is a little dark; however, this makes a great place for a date. The only negative thing I have to say is that the items on the menu add up. $$$$. However, you get way you pay for. It’s London after all…

Hidden away in St Christopher’s Place this Thai gem has in over 30 years NEVER disappointed an absolute must for Thai food lovers looking for somewhere special. Do not be fooled by the slightly odd entrance it all happens downstairs!

My rating is primarily for the service and décor of the place… which I’ll give 4 stars. Staff was attentive, curtieous and mindful. As for the food I didn’t ordered off the standard entrée food menu and just got two appetizers for my meal. The papaya salad(3.5 stars) and the grilled foie gras(3.0 stars). Partner ordered the Grilled Chicken w/Veggie with an order of white rice(3.5 stars). Good(and quiet) option from the hustle and bustle from the Bond and Christopher Street restaurants spilling into the street and sidewalk.

London prices, what can you do? The food is good though, and the staff were all friendly when my friends and I visited the other night. They found us a table despite our lack of a Friday night reservation, which was good. Nicely decorated, cozy atmosphere downstrairs. I had spicy chicken with soft shell crab on coconut rice, which was really delicious, and my friends were also happy with their curries. We ordered a bottle of very drinkable white wine and were happy to be left alone to chat and catch up. I was a little annoyed at the 12.5% service charge being included, which is something I’m much more accustomed to seeing in America, but the staff was good, so I’m sure they deserved it.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times, but I’ve yet to be blown away. The atmosphere is nice… efficient service, white linen table cloths and napkins, and the curries arrive in massive artistically-shaped white porcelain bowls. In terms of ambiance, this gets high marks as a Thai restaurant, but it’s far from being overly chichi — the downstairs area, especially, is a little shabby and dated. Where this place really falls short is with the food. The ingredients are all very high-quality and fresh, and but taste-wise, it’s simply average. Neither their green or jungle curry left me wanting more — and I’m a HUGE fan of thai food! Considering the underwhelming taste and slight portion sizes the prices seemed a little high for what you ended up with. I also had a pretty lacking basic cocktail here… haven’t tried anything from their wine list, but if you’re drinking, I’d probably stick to that.

Eat Thai — it’s kind of an order but they’re a bit lax on enforcing it so if you want to Eat French or anything there’s one right opposite. Go ahead. If not though, this is a wise choice. A really nice local Thai restaurant, it’s entirely unpretentious, particularly downstairs, just cave like arches all painted white and simple tables with white tablecloths. The food is nice too, I usually opt for the curries and they have been of a really good standard on every occasion I’ve been. They do have a really wide menu though and some classics like Weeping Tiger also feature for around £14. This is good quality beef but either way it’s not exactly cheap. I would say this is a step up from Busaba Eathai just around the corner but you are definitely paying for it.
