This is a nice enough tapas restaurant, opposite the Travelodge and casino, just off the main streets of Leicester. I’m not a huge fan of tapas so am unlikely to ever be wowed by it. Here I found less things on the menu that I wanted to get than usual(there did seem to be a lot of broken eggs and fish on offer), but paradoxically the things I did like were better than what I am used to getting so that balanced out somewhat. The wine was nice, but they do that thing here where each table has an unopened bottle of water and wine on it already. I don’t like that. Bring me drinks when I order them, not before I’ve even arrived. This is a bright modern restaurant with a small external area, which(fortunately for some of my fellow diners) is sheltered from the rain by a couple of those massive umbrellas bars use.

This is in LEICESTER not LEICESTERSQUARE! One of the new restaurants opened as part of the new Highcross shopping centre, apparently this is the first of the chain outside of Spain. We ended up not ordered because the food was so prohibitively expensive. I was also mightily confused by the menu which offered tapas dishes as ‘sharers’ for twice the price of course. Absolute madness — the whole point of tapas is sharing and paying nearly £8 for one dish is ridiculous. I imagine the Spanish versions of this restaurant are nothing like this. It looked lovely and the staff were friendly, but I would boycott for the safety of your wallet — you’d get a much better feed at Carluccio’s across the way.
