Since the smoking ban last year, this branch of Nero has improved ten-​fold!
Service here is always quick and friendly, but while seating downstairs is quite limited, there are plenty of nice armchairs upstairs to curl-​up in with a book.
Previously the upstairs was the smoking area and despite lots of windows, the air never really circulated. Now it’s much better, though because of the high ceilings, it still feels a bit empty
The coffees and cakes on offer are lovely and the staff take pride in making a good drink — happy to customise any drink

You know what you’re getting with Café Nero, and this is quite a spacious coffee shop with plenty of setting up and downstairs. Occasionally it’s great for a bit of celebrity spotting, I’ve sat near Rufus Sewell in the past!
The only downfall is that the nice comfy sofa area at the front is always hogged by yummy mummies literally always with there baps out feeding their babies. Not necessarily what you want to be confronted with when you fancy a Frappicino!
