Decent coffee and sparse selection of teas, typical Nero. WiFi is fast but you’ll need to sign up. This place is located in the heart of Piccadilly Circus so it’s packed pretty much all the time, but wait 5 minutes and it’s likely someone will leave and open a table for you. Come here to take a break from shopping and escape the rain!

Better than average espresso, and better than Starbucks and some other chains. Wish there some in the States. But still lacking quality food choices and you will always will get a better experience from skilled baristas which I think they lack here.

As all good franchises, the coffee and food at Café Nero doesn’t change much from location to location. So what makes this one worth reviewing? Well other than the need to add places so I can create a Chains of London list, this location stands out in terms of service and comfort. The servers were attentive and incredibly fast and well organised. I had my coffee order taken and delivered in less time than it took me to pay. IN addition, my fruit salad container was taken and the fruit tipped into a proper bowl. While this was completely unnecessary, eating out of a bowl with a real fork was much nicer than picking wedges of pineapple out of a plastic tub with my fingers. The coffee is pretty good for a chain and I actually prefer it to the Starbucks bean. Plus, this place is packed with comfy couches and even the bench seating is well padded and relaxing. Overall, I like and will stop by next time I’m in the area and need an espresso boost.

Concierge: Getting your Nero on Me: Yeah, it’s a great location C: Not Starbucks? Me: Too American C: Yeah, it’s «those» Americans that come down and whine, «Where’s the Starbucks…» Me: Ugly Americans… This place was a lifesaver. Two massimo(large) café lattes… skim. Their coffee really woke us up! They also have pre-made sandwiches that taste great toasted. Wonderful patio, but more importantly, a casual stroll down from the hotel and way cheaper than room service. This is one of the local chains which is better than Starsux.

On the whole I think that one Café Nero is much like another, except the one my friend used to work at which was more like an extension of her living room in terms of never having to pay for tea. This one is different however, thanks to the lovely surroundings it is in. You wouldn’t guess if you went in at the Jermyn Street entrance although it is in a very attractive old building but inside they’ve fitted it out with all the usual Nero fixtures and fittings. Out on the Piccadilly side though there’s a shady courtyard, next to the church, with tables laid out in the ivy strewn surroundings. It’s miraculously quiet and an incredibly pretty place to have coffee within sight of Piccadilly.
