I am never going back here. I’m guessing there is not a world standard on a burger. 4 of us with different burgers non impressed. Pulled pork burger had a teaspoon of pork on it, taste fell short and the teaspoon did not match American equivalent. Smoky burger didn’t taste smoky and taste like a cheese burger with barbecue sauce. Cheese burger can’t complain it was a burger with cheese. Not a proper burger. Just A BURGER

Good service. Food was alright, a lot like GBK. Could have been a lot worse. Long waits though.

I’ve not been into a Byron which didn’t have friendly and efficient staff. I’ve also never been in a Byron that wasn’t busy– clearly the formula works. But, in the dark heart of Nappy Valley, this one gets ridiculously busy– I brought one of the clan here as a treat, which somewhat backfired, as we had to wait close on 30 minutes for a seat(it being Saturday lunchtime). Once we’d got in, the burger was indeed burgery, the strawberry milkshake delicious, the kiddie menu spot on, and, as ever, the onion rings very greasy. I’ll also admit, there’s something in the mix I’m allergic to– my money is on the brioche bap. It would be nice to have a burger option that didn’t come with a side of digestive discomfort– because, let’s face it, I’m not coming to a burger place to eat salad.

It seems like not matter which Byron I go to there is always a GBK close by, and for whatever reason people at Byron talking about GBK. Is GBK better? This, I feel, is the current debate. I’m not here to weigh in on this matter, but suffice is to say, they are similar. The difference, and a big one, is that at Byron you get table service. Moreover, there is often much more space in a Byron than their neighbors. Reasonably priced, locally sourced, and a healthy variety of options and it seems like Byron edges out GBK almost every time. It’s not gourmet, but it’ll do in a pinch!

Just had a really good burger. Service was quick and friendly. Was a bit crazy with loads of kids but to be expected on a Sunday. The staff were well equipped for the craziness of the day. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Oreo cookie milkshakes!!! Nuff said. I do like their chicken sandwich ALOT and their burgers are good. Decent and because its so close to us, I like it all the more. Its geographically desirable. The staff is really great in explaining all their toppings and burgers and styles. The courgette fries on the other hand are not good. the courgettes themselves are great, but the breading is rather thick and kind of an element of its own and its bumpy and rough and there’s something about it thats not pleasing. But the regular fries are good.

I love Byron. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. Medium burger with blue cheese and a pickle on the side– you can not go wrong with this choice!

They did a beautiful chopped salad. The ingredients were in rows across the bowl: tomatoes, avocado, cheese, bacon, egg. It was delicious. Lower points: 1. SOLOUD! The walls are cement so it’s not surprising it has horrible acoustics. 2. They would not come take our money. For a place that’s trying to be American, this doesn’t fit. :) Would definitely come here again, maybe not on a busy night though.

I would rate Byron over the GBK in the battle of the gourmet burger restaurants that seem to have sprung up over London in the last few years. Byron seems more like a proper restaurant and its burgers seem a little more tastier. The chips are also good . My only gripe with the Clapham Junction branch of Byron is that the service can be a little slow with it being difficult to catch the waiting staff’s attention.

Milkshakes and Onion Rings are very tasty, but the burgers are pretty average. Personally would go with GBK over the road, but had to test and try the new joint on the street. Diner Style atmosphere with kids galore that is pretty unavoidable at the weekend when in Nappy Valley.
