History

Established in 1979.

A fascinating building steeped in history. Originally used to build horse drawn Omnibuses. Many of the original industrial detail is still intact, attracting architects and creatives to the building who appreciate the history and design. Now a community based business hub offering office space to creative businesses and start ups.

Meet the Business Owner

Gillian H.

Business Owner

Entrepreneur — awarded Business Woman of the Year back in the mid 1980’s by Margaret Thatcher — Gillian Harwood has many fascinating sites that her and her late partner, award winning architect, Philip Lancashire, restored and developed. The Busworks was a derelict site owned by the city of London, that Gillian and Philip slowly developed over a number of years, when nobody else had the foresight to recognise the potential and appeal of small businesses renting small office spaces within one building, with the encouragement to expand and grow there. Today the Busworks is a HUGE success because of them, as well as numerous other sites they own/lease.
