Mediocre burrito– pork was more chipotle flavored than spicy, medium verde salsa was good. Sour cream and lettuce were bland, and I would recommend not getting any beans. Stale tortilla chips, and a pound extra for salsa. Underwhelming for the price(£8) so I may look elsewhere for my next meal.

It’s cheap and good. Stay away from the chicken, very dry but the beef is good. The guac is free!!! although it doesn’t look fresh… but i may just prefer chunky quac. My biggest complaint is that they do not honor their hours! They close early ALL the time. When you want a burrito, this is SO disappointing. They are also closed on the weekends. Can someone please explain this to me? DOTHEYLIKELOSINGMONEY? but yeah totally eat here once a month and enjoy it.

I’ve had lunch from here 3 times, and each time I’ve not been blown away, but I’ve not hated it either. The price is pretty reasonable, but there just seems to be something missing that makes this an awesome mexican burrito place. There just isn’t quite enough flavour in anything to set my tastebuds alight! I would go again if I’m hungry and there’s no Chipotle nearby.

An absolute gem for anyone looking to induldge in a tasty, cheap and filling lunch. The service was quite good but upon ordering some nachos they seemed a bit confused as to where to find them! In the end they went downstairs to get some. On the burrito side however I have no complaints whatsoever. For £6(50p extra for guacamole — various degrees of spiciness you can pick from!) you will be full ’til dinner time and beyond. Copious amounts of fresh salad, dollops of refried beans, rice and a good sized helping of meat of your choice(pork, chicken, beef or vegy) topped up with sour cream, spicy salsa in a soft tortilla wrap. I read the reviewer’s comment below and sampled Luardo’s burrito van on Whitecross St and to be honest, I prefer Burrito Bros(although there’s a really fit blonde girl working at Luardo’s…)

I don’t understand the poor reviews, I had a big chicken burrito and it was delicious. It’s not posh but for a quick lunch meal, it was well worth the £9 I spent(including the beer).

It’s a burrito in London, the bar is low. After running a few errands near Clerkenwell I was famished. I spotted BB again(which always seems quite dimly lit, and perhaps closed — but isn’t) and decided to chance it. How hard is it to make an average burrito? Not hard. They do it. And average is what I got. Sometimes it’s good to go in with low expectations. I will say though that the girl was pretty nice, and I was in and out within a few minutes, happily munching on my burrito and tortilla chips at home within 10. Not bad. If nothing else, it was wrapped tightly, and stayed together until I could finish it. The meat was a tad dry, but not offensively so. The guac was whipped to within an inch of its life, making it more of a paste… but again, I wasn’t offended. All in all, it’s not bad. It’s not amazing, but its not bad. I’d go back again when the hankering for faux-Mexican hits. Open til 11pm, and fast.

The big ones here are monsters. The King Kong’s of mexican mash… Eating the whole thing makes you feel like a pig. A happy pig who’s going to have a nap now… cuz he’s so damn full. Pig’s aren’t fussy… but they know what they like. A mix. So mix up the salsas on your burrito… instead of choosing between — hot, medium OR mild — tell them you want a splash of each! The mild is chunks of stuff in a runny liquid, the medium looks like red/brown paste and the hot salsa is on fire! I like a chunky salsa that isn’t bland… so I get ALL of them on my burritos and it’s perfect. For the tortilla chips, they come with hot salsa usually, but you’ll burn your mouth in a flash with that«fires of hell» like heat going down your throat… So I usually ask them for mild(with chunks) and hot salsa mixed up a bit. and that’s perfect. Only thing to watch is that they don’t seem to have standardised portions too much… so if ordering the same thing from day to day, sometimes you get tons of meat sometimes tons of rice… …so watch them make it and tell them«more rice» or «more meat» or «more salsa» too make sure they make it how you like. Don’t be shy… and stop being so bloody polite. When you step into this place — speak up! Speak up like you have left Britian and entered a bit of Mexico. «Ay caramba» …they like it! ;)

Not horrible, but far from great. Good: The tortilla was the perfect texture and the burrito was properly wrapped up tight so the fillings held well. Also the hot salsa lit me up! Wow, I love hot salsa and that stuff was serious. I loved it, but could really hurt you if you don’t like spicy stuff. Disappointing: The fillings were bland. I think with a little salt and a bit more seasoning, they could be on to something great here. Even with the fire-alarm hot salsa, the chicken, rice and beans had little taste. The folks that work here are super nice too. Wow, I really hope they read some of the reviews and kick it up a notch. I really want to like this place and will keep an eye out on reviews to see if they get better.

I want to like this place. Two of my friends passionately like it. It isn’t horrible. The pork CAN be really tasty, though sometimes it is a hit and sometimes it is too dry/been sitting around too long, aka a miss. When NOT too dry, it has a great cinnamon-y flavor that I find quite unique and tasty. I’d come back when they want to go, or maybe earlier in the day when the meat hasn’t had time to dry out. It IS nice that they are open til 11pm though.

I should have listened to the other reviewers, but I had the Groupon voucher, so I had to try it. As have been reviewed, their burrito was the soggiest in London! The sauce kept poring down from the bottom, making a huge puddle on the table. On top of that, the tortilla was tough and the whole burrito was cold!!! Don’t even think about taking it away. It’s gonna be a cold, soggy mess. It cost £6, and definitely is not worth it. If you venture downstairs, you really wouldn’t want to eat anything there. Do they know how to clean? Anyway, one final words — eat somewhere else.

We went at luch time last Thursday and there was only one other customer eating there. There were seatings at the back but he was smoking, so we had to go downstairs to the dungeon. We had pork burritos. The rice was dried out and the bean was bland, but the pork was tender. The problem is their salsa. They were far too wet and made everything soggy. Particularly my partner’s mild salsa was awful. It was just big chunks of watery tomato, pepper and onion in a very very watery liquid, making a big messy puddle on the table. My hot salsa wasn’t bad, but still it made my burrito soggy. They really do need to do something about this as well as the messy downstairs. Why can’t they tidy things up? Anyway the quality is not there and everything is overpriced.

I was craving a burrito last time I was in London and this place was a life-saver. It’s not the best burrito I’ve ever had(please keep in mind I’m not some California burrito snob), but it’s good for the price, and definitely better than anything that I’ve eaten in the more popular areas(say, that aaaawwwful Mexican place in Covent Garden that pours tomato sauce on their burritos!). Also, +1 for the manager always remembering who we were and for being so nice!

What an idiot I was. Whenever anyone asked me what I would miss most from home whilst living in London, I always answered, ‘burritos’. Well, London actually seems to have nothing but burritos. I can’t even name all the places off the top of my head, and there seem to be new ones popping up every day. The new problem is actually being spoiled for choice– thus leading to a need for each place to somehow differentiate itself from the pack. I now work about 10 minutes away from Burrito Bros, and I believe this place will enter my semi-regular workweek burrito rotation along with Exmouth Freebird, Daddy Donkey, and Mas Burritos. The staff are friendly, and the salsa has some definite kick to it. Having spicy salsa that is actually spicy is probably going to be the differentiating detail that leads me back here every so often.

I’ve been waiting for some time to try Burrito Bros. The place is in a really inconvenient location for me personally, being neither here(work) nor there(home). So yesterday I went there especially, having already satisfied myself with a Chipotle for lunch. At first I was rather worried by the place. It had steamed up windows and no atmosphere at all. There were 2 staff there, neither of whom were smiling, and my attempts at making conversation felt wasted. I ordered the burrito and every time I asked for something(I kind of know my burritos and know what I want, plus for the purpose of reviews I always have the same type to keep it fair), but I guess the guy at the counter was new as he kept asking me again to make sure. It took him a while to construct my burrito, but never before have I seen such care taken in burrito construction. The result was a perfectly wrapped specimen, but this brought me to my 2nd worry; he’d taken so long wrapping it that I was worried it would be cold. As I was eating in, they suggested I go downstairs to the seating area rather than sit at the counter upstairs. This was my first surprise. There were actually people down there, enjoying conversation. The barren upstairs counter area was actually hiding a nice little seating area below. I then unwrapped the burrito and took my first bite. And it was good. Not only was it good, but each subsequent bite was somehow better, which isn’t always the case with a burrito. This one was very flavoursome, and although it had a flavour different to any other burrito I’ve had. As I finished my burrito, I was in no doubt that Burrito Bros has made it into my top 3 burrito places in London(though not quite as good as Chilango or Chipotle). So I am not sure what the 1-star and 2-star reviews are on about really. Perhaps they were written when it was new and still experiencing teething troubles. Who knows. This little place is great in my opinion :) Burrito Bros, I salute you!

Now I had spent a while thinking I’d already written this review. After visiting Burrito Brothers I left with a nasty taste in my mouth. Their burritos. No thaey aren’t quite as terrible as Lil Donkey’s version but, unless very drunk or starving, I’ll avoid this place. Very friendly staff but naff beans, and boring rice. I won’t go, I really do feel that uninspired about it.

Dear Unilocalers, you spoke and I should have listened. But no, I was high on life from all that ujjayi breathing — having just come from an Astanga yoga class — and feeling optimistic. Way too optimistic in hindsight(gosh darn, it’s always 20⁄20 isn’t it?) Still keeping my wits about me I ordered a single carnitas taco. I got back to the office, took a bite and wondered if I ought to keep going. First, the odd cinnamon notes. Next came the unrelenting dryness of the meat. Finally even the taco shell itself was off. The only redeeming quality about my Burrito Bros experience was the salsa. It was sufficiently spicy and opened up my nasal passages as I would expect a sauce composed of chili peppers to do.

You know when friends talk something up to be so so SO great(OMG… that new Gus Van Sant movie will blow your socks off, or Jelly Babies are the gummy of all gummies…) but then when you experience that same something it’s only mediocre? Well that’s exactly the opposite of what happened at Burrito Bros. I thought these tacos would be so vile, so tragic, so painful to consume that it was practically on a dare that we stepped inside this little shop. And I must say… after one £2 chicken taco, I would certainly go back for another. Was it amazing? No. Was it the vile equivalent of chewing on tree bark? Not even close. It was several notches higher. Several. Tortilla = really, really bad Salsa = really, really great Beans = missing a bit of flavour, but better than most Mexican joints Chicken = spicy and tender Unfortunately my fellow dare-taker did not fare so well with the pork… Go for the chicken taco and the spicy salsa. Expect a strange tortilla… go with it. You just might be surprised.

I’ve been working nearby for over a year now, but tried this place for the first time today for lunch. Was as quiet and dead as a morgue when I walked in at 12:30pm, and the staff seemed really bored too. Ordered my burrito — chicken, with all toppings and guacamole(extra 50p), came up to a total of £6, which is a bit of a shocking price I must admit. Back at my desk, the tortilla wrap smelled like the factory produced type you see at supermarkets, the kind which are always on half price or buy one get one free. In short — the tortilla smelled stale, and tasted stale too. The toppings inside were decent — the chicken well marinated. Overall, its quite a big burrito, and I felt quite full afterwards(although not stuffed). But is it worth £6? Nah, especially since its not as good as Chilango and other burrito places nearby. Plus, there’s lots of other decent lunch places and cafes, all serving better food for much cheaper. Reviewed by The London Insider

Having lived in California for the past 9 years, I think of myself as quite the burrito snob! Since moving back I’ve been in search for the taco truck/taqueria/Chipotle alternative here in London and Burrito Bros was my first encounter. They have the set-up like Chipotle: you walk in and pick between a burrito, fajita burrito, Jr. burrito, taco, or bowl(filling w/o tortilla), then go on to choose which meat you would like, followed by salsa based on hotness, and finally the staples like sour cream, cheese, lettuce and guacamole for a little extra. I had the Chicken burrito, medium salsa and all the trimmings for £5. The price is excellent for what you get, as the burrito comes packed with fillings! The medium salsa has quite a serious kick to it, so I would only recommend Scorchio to those who have already burned their taste buds away. Lunch time can get busy, so expect a bit of wait. If you work locally and want to order for the office, they do deliver. You also have the option to phone in your order for pick-up, if you’re on a tight lunch break. As far as taste goes, it just doesn’t cut it for me. Plus their guac is this really off-putting muddy green, and where I’m from guac should NOT be that colour! Needless to say, the hunt for the mouth watering burrito continues!

I’ll give it one star for being cheap, and one star for that juicy bit at the end of a burrito, but nothing else particularly good about this place. It’s not even a place you want to go to, they’ve got pick-up and delivery, which is good, but you can’t really eat there. The tortilla chips are terrible, they’re pre-flavoured, like doritos, and it’s like they don’t really know what to do with them. I’ve been here twice, first time was around 6pm, and I told myself I’d give them another try at lunch, when they might be a bit busier and have fresher food. No go, had lunch there today and it wasn’t any better.
