Specialties

The only Pie making classes in London established 2009. Very fun hands on cooking classes making the filling and the pastry from scratch for your own individual savoury pies. Lots of top tips to avoid the dreaded soggy bottom along the way. Also there will be a sweet tartlet pastry demonstration (so mini tartlets to nibble on) and a Pie Quiz. At the end of class we eat our baked British pies enjoyed with a side of buttery lemon beans and a beer.

Marika will guide you through making the best pies. Her book «Little Book Of Pies» is out June 2014.

History

Established in 2009.

Marika started her fun unpretentious home cookery school in 2009. Teaching small classes Greek and Mediterranean cooking classes. Although popular nothing as popular as the Pie classes.

Marika is Anglo-Greek and thought what would be a fun British class — Pie classes were born — then boom! they took off. Sunday pie club was born hiring out a bakery in Muswell Hill — Marika taught classes of 14 pie lovers the art of making pies, proper pies twice a month. After maternity leave Marika re-located to Central St. Cookery school situated in the City, near Angel and Old St.

Marika soon started to gain lots of great press, appear as a Pie judge on Good food channel, interviewed on BBC London Radio which gained her a publishing deal with Random House/Square peg for her «Little book of pies»

Meet the Business Owner

Marika G.

Business Owner

A bubbly Anglo-Greek former singer songwriter, Marika traded up a life of rock n roll for a life in the glorious Food industry. Glamorous, charismatic and single-minded, she applied her entrepreneurial skills to her other great passion — cooking. After assisting in prestigious cookery schools and working as a chef, she cut loose and formed her own unique home cookery school in London called Marika’s Kitchen.

Word of London’s only pie making classes quickly spread leading to expansion in the form of a Sunday Pie Making Club held fortnightly in various venues. Media soon beaconed and Marika found herself guesting as a Pie Expert on the Good Food Network, live chats at BBC radio London, whilst rave reviews followed from such luminaries as Delia Online, Olive Magazine & more. Following the recent birth of her daughter, Marika has now returned to action, steering Marika’s Kitchen to further success.
