Great food and great service, superb range on the menu, we all had mixed starters humus, tabule etc and a mix of grilled lamb and chicken for mains with couscous and crunchy salad. All of us left totally stuffed. Very friendly and helpful service explaining the menu and best of all talking to my girls like adults. Will be back.

This place is really excellent. Do not be deceived by external appearances: it looks like yet another cheap kebab shop, what with the greasy doner unappetisingly thrust in the front window. But venture beyond that façade and you’ll find a quiet, welcoming Turkish restaurant with char grilled lamb kebabs I’m still dreaming about and warm, pillowy bread you want to sink your face into. This is our favourite neighbourhood restaurant.

I have been dining in and more often taking out from the two Best Mangals both located on North End Road for many years now. In my experience they are the best ocakbasi restaurants I have found and their grilled meats and Yaprak Doner put them in my top 5 kebab houses in London. This Latest branch on the Fulham Road upholds their high standards. On my first visit I opted for a Chicken Doner, as this old favourite which USED to be available from the second branch has been missing for a some years. It actually had a spicier marinade then I recall but was lovely. It was slightly superior to the Chicken Doners I have recently tried from ‘Cyprus Mangal’, ‘Woody Grill’, ‘Tad Mangal’ & ‘696 Mangal — though ALL four of them were very good’. The mixed hot starter I had was a «mixed» affair. The beef sausage was yummy, the spinach & cheese Börek was fine but the Falafel was lacking somehow — it did not hold together properly and tasted«wrong». Service wise the familiar faces from the other branches are fine but some of the newer staff need to relax a little. The manager/head waiter on the night I went in particular seemed to be tense and there were only five tables with people on them in the whole restaurant! It is strange they have opened this third branch close to the end of North End Road; I feel the owners are missing an opportunity to expand to an area that has NOT experienced their fine Turkish fare. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

Best kebab shop in Fulham, maybe in all of London, and quite possibly the whole world. Yes, that’s a bold statement, but try this place and you won’t be disappointed. And yes, I’ve been to Bosphorous Kebabs in South Kensington, and it’s overrated. Seriously, how good can a kebab shop in South Kensington possibly be? But I digress… We just moved back to California after a year in London, the last 6 months of which were in Fulham, and Best Mangal is far and away the food I miss most. Skip the chicken and get the lamb. SUCCULENT.

As far as kebab’s go then you don’t get much better than this. There are a few(all similar) kebab places that serve fantastic meat in the Fulham/Hammersmith/Parsons Green area. It would be easy to take kebabs for granted due to their high standard. I should check myself. For me jebabs were always something you only wanted to eat when you are drunk. Best Mangal(along with 696 Mangal and Ottoman) have changed my opinion of this. I know regualrly drop in(when sober) for a sheesh kebab during the day time/evening. This place has a restaurant in the back and serves take away stuff in the front. They cook the meat over a BBQ style pit and it works. You get the BBQ taste of char grilled meat. The meat is of a good quality too. If you’re drunk in Fulham and wanta kebab then look no further than this place. Also, if you love meat, why not try sitting in the back and have a mixed sheesh and a beer. Top place, that comes highly recommended from moi.

This the third of Best Mangals in Fulham broadway area and the first that I have tried and it is just excellent. The entrance of the place is quite uninviting and looks like a cheap kebab shop, but in the inside it is a completely different matter, from the nice skylight on the roof to the special shisha(hubble bubble) seating area which is open and would make a nice setting in the summer. The meats are very fresh and they have quite a variety of them, their menu is quite extensive and covers most famous dishes in the turkish cuisine apart from the dough based dishes like lahmacun. All in all, if you are living in the area I would highly recommend the restaurant especially for takeaways where they serve the same restauarant meals at a discount.

A couple months ago, I was on the 28 bus to Fulham Broadway when I saw that the Steak Tapas place that was once there was gone. I was about to take a moment to consider the vagaries of fate, when I saw a banner over the windows proclaiming: Best Mangal! I nearly squeed out loud. My husband and I have been trekking across the entire length of North End Road to West Ken for the past 3 years for the best Turkish kebab joint in all of London. And now, like the mountain to Mohammed, the Best Mangal had come to us in Fulham! Here’s the deal: it’s good, it’s better than good, it’s a stratosphere above the average kebab. Less than a tenner gets you an amazing lamb beyti, with heaping salad(delish in its own right!) and bread basket. Chicken donor is actually pretty lovely as well – didn’t expect that! Looks like a takeaway, but there is a lovely restaurant portion with a garden patio where you can go for some hookah action if so inclined. Maybe when the weather is milder? The staff are so nice and shake hands when we come in – that could be because we went 3 times in one week when they first opened. =) Btw, hands down, better than the lousy Lebanese restaurant across the way. Just sayin’. Shame about us moving to Clapham… I reckon if the Best Mangal banner had appeared before we signed the papers, we might have had to reconsider leaving Fulham. In any case, we still trek, but this time across the river for some mouthwateringly delicious kebabs. What’s even better is that the lure of a Best Mangal dinner gets me to David Lloyds at least once a week! Two birds! Anyway, if you’re in Clapham, Fulham or Putney, make your pilgrimmage now. You’ll not regret it. Promise. And you may even see us there!
