The studio is open by appointment only. We are a working art studio day to day so not open to the public.

History

Established in 2008.

When Peter Bellerby began searching for a globe for his father’s 80^th birthday present, he had no idea he’d end up making globes himself. But after realising that there was a serious lack of artisanal, well-​crafted globes on the market, he figured he’d try to make his father’s present himself. «Initially my plan was to make one for him, and maybe one for me if I had the budget,» he says. «And then things went crazy out of control.»

Our magical studio has its roots in Peter’s personal quest to find a suitable globe for his father’s 80^th birthday. Unsatisfied with everything he found in the market he decided to make his own. Many years later, & many many more challenges later, he finally mastered the seemingly simple process of ‘making a ball and putting a map on it’. Those challenges are what has made Bellerby and Co. what it is today.

Now a small team of trained globemakers create the high quality, handmade globes that Bellerby & Co. has come to be recognised for. From the stand, to the artwork, the painting & map-​making, each piece is expertly crafted using traditional & modern techniques, & is lovingly produced in our London studio; each piece is an individual model of style and grandeur and the larger globes are works of art in their own right.

It is a thrill that our globes used in Hollywood movies, TV productions. but most importantly enjoyed by our many customers around the world.
