The Basil Leaf is right next to Baron’s Court tube stop and isn’t a bad place to stop in to grab something if you are about to enjoy a long tube ride. The shop is a cross between a deli and corner store. The corner store side sells water, fruit, canned goods and other goodies. You will find a few surprises like some great chocolate and high end cookie brands. At the deli counter you will find a number of items but I have to suggest the samosa! The beef samosa are really good and they are not too big and not too small. They are perfect if you are a little hungry but not up for anything big. This is a great place to pop in; the down side is that they never seem to keep their hours. You’ll want to grab a coffee or something light only to find the shop closed, when it should be open, with zero note. I find that irritating, but it doesn’t keep me from dropping in when they are open.
