Description

Specialties

It’s hard to define KICK as it’s so many things to different people, and we don’t like to be pigeon-holed into a box! Can a ‘sports bar’ serve good quality, fresh, lovingly cooked food? Yes. Can a tranquil coffee bar turn into a buzzing cocktail bar at night? Yes. Can a place that shows a HUGE amount of international live football be friendly and inviting to all kinds of customers? The answer is yes. It’s true that many people get confused at what we’re trying to be… but why would we want to be just one thing? Why just a ‘sports bar’? Why just serve delicious burgers and hot dogs? Why not have tasty daily changing lunch specials with Mediterranean dishes and recipes from around the world? And it’s not just Bonzini table-football and live football that we do with gusto… every Monday night our basement turns into ‘The KICK Stage’ where we present comedy, poetry & spoken word, short films and speed-dating. Why JUST be a sports bar?!

History

Established in 2001.

The owners of KICK took all the best bits of all the best bars in all the hot countries that they travelled to and created their dream bar… what we have today. Initially it grew out of one of Shoreditch High Street’s many Shoe Shops and opened its doors in October 2001 to serve coffees, drinks and a few home-cooked dishes. There were French Bonzini football tables, formica furniture, bare walls and bright lights.

From this day the lights have been dimmed, customers have been helping us to fill the walls with world football memorabilia and we have been well and truly lived-in. The ceilings have been covered with flags and our babyfoot players have improved so much, we can’t keep up with them!

Mostly famous for our table-football, our basement events, lovingly cooked food and cocktails we are also the place to be to watch live football.

Our HAPPY HOUR is the best in town with bottles of house beer for £2 and all our monthly cocktails reduced to £4.85 everyday 4−7pm. Enjoy…
