This place is AMAZING if you love sausages! They have an extensive menu — loads of choices for different sausages! Very tasty — prices are not too bad either. Lots of options of sauces you can have with the sausages too. More of a take away place — the only thing that lets it down slightly is that the place is small and it is standing room only. Excellent place — fabulous food — would recommend to anyone!

A good solid lunchtime destination, the sausages are always spot on(especially the polishg sausage and the cumberland), though as I think has been mentioned, the bread is a bit pappy… at £3.50-£4.50 the sausages are a tad on the steep side, but given the surprising paucity of good lunchtime takeaways in the area, Banger Bros are a bit of a lifesaver!

If your looking for a quick affordable tasty place on Portabello Road for lunch, Banger Bros. is just the spot. During my semester abroad in London, I interned just off of Portabello Road and because of that ate lunch there almost everyday. Surprisingly there is a lack of quality lunch spots on that great little market street. The place I found myself going to the most(along with Falafel King in a close 2nd) was Banger Bros. They have a great selection of sausages and some other dishes including burgers and chicken. While they all looked tempting, I found myself always always coming back to one tasty sausage sandwich, the Cumberland. Honestly, I think it may be the best Cumberland I had in my 3 months in the UK(very close to the fresh cumberlands from the Isle of Wight when I was at Bestival). Banger Bros. serves it as a sandwich with a very tasty aioli. I add a little ketchup and it is divine. The sausage is free range from Devon, so your can feel good about those things as well. The chips are quality too. A still prefer shoestring american fries, but these are some nice thick cut chips that I enjoy because they are nice and crunchy and not too potatoey inside. I’ve also had the«Dog» and the Chorizo. Both were above average, but neither of them were as good as the cumberland. If your looking for lunch on Portabello road, Banger Bros. is a great place to stop. All this despite the suggestive restaurant name(give Banger Bros. a google search haha)

Banger Bro’s is THE place for bangers. They have nine meaty choices to choose from either wrapped up in a floury bun or served with salad. If I’m going to go so far down hill as to eat these bad boys then I really go for it and have cheddar, sweet caramelized onions, ketchup AND mustard on mine. Disgusting I know, but it’s sooooooooooo good and afterall, most of the meat is organic so I shouldn’t feel too bad. You can have typically British flavoured sausages or fancier ones like Smoked Toulouse and Spicy Choriszo. Bangers have never tasted so good. They also have plenty of relishes that really make the perfect sausage sarnie. And best of all, they serve San Pellegrino to wash it down with. It’s little modest cafes like Banger Bro’s who serve up unexpectedly great food to the wandering crowds that make Portobello Road so extra special.

If somewhere just does ONE thing and nothing else they better make pretty damn sure that it’s the best. However, to avoid all this pressure these guys seem to have composed a menu, based on one ingredient, the sausage, that is pretty extensive. There are at least 6 or 7 different options, French ones, Polish ones, Vege ones, chicken ones — George Michael’s — battered. I had the simplest one on the menu, just hot dog style: bit of meat, bun, fried onions and ketchup. It was nice enough but not amazing. By any stretch. I think they’ve gone way too gastropub on such a classic. They claim their servitude to the humble sausage but somehow by dressing it up so much, in so many different ways, it feels like it’s not good enough. I didn’t like the bread much and the onions were way too hard. In fact, the whole place just tries a bit too hard.

Eat in or take out this little sausage eatery offers some tasty treats! It’s got a very international flavour offering sausages like the smoked Toulouse and the Moroccan lamb sausages and you can add your own choice of toppings for an extra 50p. Altogether you won’t be paying more than a fiver. It’s a really pleasant little stop off if you want a bite to eat whilst wandering through Notting Hill. They even offer some great desserts as well if you fancy something sweet to finish off your meal-I recommend the bitter chocolate brownie mouse-yum!
