Avalon Flowers

I ordered flowers to be delivered same day today to a close friend living nearby — Shaila not only was so friendly and sweet on the phone, but also created a lovely bouquet that stayed within my preferred price range. She also took time to make sure my card message was as I wanted, and sent me an email with photos of the arrangement before it was sent out! Talk about above and beyond. Very happy to support her shop from all the way over here in NYC!

Shaila is THE BEST!!! I live in the US and have never been to the UK or dealt with anything international. My brother in law just moved there and I wanted to get flowers sent to his work for his bday. I searched Unilocal to see if I could find a florist and came upon this jewel.
I started communications with Avalon Flowers through e-​mail first, which Shaila was always very quick to respond. It was brought to my attention that the delivery location was over 30 miles away from the shop — quite a distance. Shaila advised me that she would still make it work!
I finally bought a phone card (which I would highly advise if you don’t have a LAN line and only use mobile) to call Shaila. She was the sweetest lady on the phone — so accommodating and helpful!!! I would highly recommend Shaila and Avalon Flowers!!! The flowers are scheduled to be delivered next week but given the reviews and my dealings with Shaila thus far, I’m sure they will not disappoint.
I wanted to make sure I posted this since it’s fresh in my mind or will probably forget to do so later. I will post an update after the flowers have been delivered.

I live in the US, and I wanted to send flowers to my friend in London. Was happy to read some Unilocal reviews from people who had done so through Avalon flowers. At the time, their website had not been completely constructed, so I was a little worried as I could not see any examples of their arrangements. Avalon had such good reviews though, so I decided to give it a shot.
I called their shop using Google Voice (yay for cheap international calling), and spoke to Shaila. Shaila was wonderful, and worked with me throughout the entire process. She was so friendly and welcoming. I told her that I didn’t know exactly what type of flowers I wanted, so we went by a price range that I was comfortable with and the ‘feel’ I wanted for the arrangement. As I described the feel I was going for, she brought up suggestions for colors and types of flowers, and it all sounded wonderful. There was a bit back and forth after that phone call to coordinate delivery of the flowers, and communication was always prompt and clear. Shaila knew that the flowers were a surprise, so she coordinated how to contact my friend to ensure that someone would be home to receive the delivery (she didn’t want to leave them on a doorstep in case they should get swiped), while keeping the actual delivery and sender a secret. She kept me up to date every step of the way.
Shaila sent me a picture of the complete arrangement before delivery, and the arrangement she made was really perfect. I really don’t like the generic arrangements that you see with services like 1−800-FLOWERS. I always prefer to go with actual shops where the arrangements they create feel one of a kind, and created with inspiration and thoughtfulness every time. Avalon created a perfectly sized, lovely arrangement of bright, colorful, and beautiful and elegant arrangement of flowers — exactly what I wanted to send as a pick-​me-​up to my friend (picture posted). My friend loved them :)
I would definitely recommend Avalon Flowers to anyone looking for a friendly, quality shop who takes the time to make beautiful creations as well as ensure that they get to their destination securely. Great experience.

Epic florist. I called Avalon from the US because I wanted to send an arrangement to someone in the Home Office to thank her for her exceptional support regarding an issue she resolved for us. Avalon did not blink when I said I was calling from Cambridge (the OTHER Cambridge) and even asked if I needed to get the flowers there that day (I rang at 17:00 and they close at 19:00). I didn’t, but was truly impressed that they would do something on such quick turnaround if needed. The woman I spoke with was exceptionally nice and very helpful in understanding the look I was going for (English country garden). It was a pleasure to work with someone so lovely and so accommodating.
The flowers I ordered arrived early the following morning and were a «wow.»

Their arrangements are lovely and very affordable, I could say the same for their flowers always fresh and just beautiful.

Great place, I tried them out for the first time and they could not have been more friendly.
I asked for a flower that would last, they gave me great information, they were right in that it has lasted very well and was a great price.
