Very good service once we were able to track someone down to help us. The salesman was helpful and up front about costs, best options, and even the fact that Austin Reed wouldn’t be the best place for a smaller-framed man like my husband to get his shirts. The suit my husband picked out is fabulous and was altered beautifully to fit just right by the in-house tailoring staff.

OHNO what happened to Aquascutum? It’s still here somewhere… 1st floor… right at the back… and tiny. The brand used to occupy the entire store but has now shrivelled into something so small you could easily miss it. This Austin Reed seems to have a few other brands setting up mini departments within its store. NB — yeah right like I shop here! Too pricey for me but I can’t deny the quality. D does though. Me? I go to TK Maxx for suits to destroy in the classroom.

I bought a suit from here. The sales assistant was an incompetent fool. My suit is now ready to be given to a charity shop.

This is easy for me. I like smart casual and sport inspired labels. Lots of classic English clothing stocked. Barbour, great against the rain. We bought Barbours for everyone this year! I like the small café so I can have a snack in peace while I select my shopping. Helpful staff and excellent service.

This is Austin Reed’s flagship store, with five floors of elegant, classic menswear and womenswear, as well as a small café on the lower ground floor. The classic Austin Reed look — think suits, blazers, double-cuffed shirts, good leather shoes, heavy-knit jumpers, barbour jackets — is timeless, and very British in an understated way. The clothing is generally excellent quality, too: I have Austin Reed suits and ties that have lasted well over a decade. All this quality comes at a price, and it’s not cheap: shoes especially can be eye-wateringly expensive(around £500 a pair for something top-end). But other accessories and their own brand goods can offer good value for money, although this is never going to be a budget store. That said, they do have good sales. I’ve generally found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. The branch has a hire service, as well as a(very) small café for breakfast, a light lunch or afternoon tea. It’s often very quiet, so a good place to escape the madness of the West End. The store has level access(suitable for wheelchairs) to all the main floors, although one or two raised-platform display areas have steps. There are men’s, women’s and disabled toilets.
