Angela Mortimer

I am a British citizen residing in the US. I am employed as a paralegal and have 25+ years experience in the legal field. Prior to my visit to London in February, 2015, I contacted this agency and set up an appointment to meet with one of their consultants. I was interested in moving back to the UK and wanted to know my options with regard to the job market in London. The interview went well and I was advised that I would be contacted with openings that were commensurate with my experience. I was further advised that I would have no difficulty in securing employment. I was asked if I would be amenable to flying back to the UK for an interview if a suitable position was found and I told them it would not be a problem. Since that meeting I have sent three follow-​up e-​mails and received not one response! I find this quite offensive and very unethical. I was certainly lead to believe this agency was of a higher standard.

@Daydreamer re the reply under your comment from a consultant please don’t waste your time giving Angela Mortimer any feedback. I’ve got 15+ years of PA/​exec assistant experience, joined them around 6 – 7 months ago, and NOTHING. Not a single word. I regularly apply for their advertised jobs, usually via secsinthecity. I even follow up with an email to my consultant and the consultant who is advertising the role and nothing. Some of their jobs match my experience and industry (which is very specialist and I can’t imagine many girls have much experience in that field) and I still don’t even get put forward. OHHH and when I went in, my consultant lost my CV so what did she do? She PUT ME ON A RECEPTION COMPUTER AND ASKED ME TO LOG INTO MY YAHOO AND PRINT ONE OFF. I kid you not. I eventually, after months of silence, sent an email asking my consultant to delete me from their records, as they were obviously unable to assist the response? ‘Yes sorry about that’. Now, what could she mean by that? IF I CAN FIND AN OFFICIAL BODY TO COMPLAIN TO, I WILL FORWARD THEM THIS EMAIL. Angela Mortimer needs to be exposed. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I have dealt with many agencies in the past and was always able to speak to someone directly. With Angela Mortimer I was told I had to register online, which I did, and then when I tried to arrange to meet someone to talk over my particular requirements and go over the possibilities (or lack of), I was told that they receive hundreds of CVs online and cannot possibly be expected to arrange for me to speak to someone. I was to wait until they thought my skill-​set was of use to them for a particular role. Well, they can forget it… I want to feel valued by an agency — it will be their loss.

An awful agency. Don’t listen to your requirements, really stroppy and just completely commission focused. Will never send my cv or deal with again.
