J’ai découvert la marque American Apparel aux galeries Lafayette de Lille et j’ai craqué pour ces sweats mi-​habillés mi-​confortables. Ils proposent beaucoup de choses: de la lingerie sexy mais confortable (leur mot d’ordre ?), des montres originales ou plus classiques, des jolis bandeaux à mettre dans les cheveux, des bodys, des jupes à l’allure sportive, des petits vernis et encore tant d’autres choses ! Les prix sont un peu chers mais sinon je n’ai pas de remarque négative à faire. American Apparel propose parfois des choses un peu extravagantes comme un legging doré, ce qui rassurera peut-​être celles qui pensaient trouver encore une boutique banale. Je vous conseille d’aller y faire un tour :)

My favourite American Apparel store in London! The staff always wear the clothes so well and are more friendly and helpful than in other areas like the Shoreditch store. They usually have a great stock of clothes and rarely run low on the popular stuff.

Yep i know everyone wears it. No it’s not innovative to wear shiny leggings like every other youngster in London. But i love it! Apparently Dov Charney the owner asks to see a polariod of everyone that applies to work here and vetos them himself. Nice. And all the models used for their campaigns are ‘from the street’, not agencies. And it’s true that most people that work in here are fitties, which helps the shopping experience!
Their clothes are excellent; well fitted basics in every colour of the rainbow. They also to amazing knee high socks and fun sports wear. It’s quite expensive though, but considering the progressive policies including promoting immigrant rights and labor policies that the company holds you don’t mind paying out a bit.
This branch is quiet, especially considering the location, but is often untidy. Staff can be a bit aloof too.

This is a fab shop for basics at decent prices. I have their tee shirts in about five different colours. The hoodies are decent too. It’s also handy if you’re going on holiday and want to grab a load of vests, shorts and dresses in one go, all year round.
Some of the other stuff is a bit too cool for school, if you don’t fancy wearingLycra head to toe like Jane Fonda (though maybe this is because I’m getting a bit boring and sad in my old age). If you’re heading off to the states anytime, it’s worth doing a bulk-​buy as it’s waaaay cheaper.

For a long time a disliked this chain, just because it became too trendy and recognizable and eeeveeeryyyone was wearing it. After I actually visited the shop and bought few t shirts –these suddenly became the most used items in my wardrobe.
I still would not get any of those shiny plastic leggins or catsuits (I say so now) but do get all my t shirts from this shop. The fit is just perfect. Any color or length, sleeveless or with sleeves. Always works and the range in wide.
This branch is not as busy as the one on Oxford street and spread around with two well laid out floors. Also the fact that the chain is sweat shop free makes all feel just right.

Everything about this store is trendy, down to the warehouse style layout and aloof staff, but don’t let this put you off. Here you can pick up basics in every colour, as well as more adventurous lame leggings and catsuits (maybe only for fancy dress). This branch is large, with two well laid out floors and it’s not as busy as the Oxford Street branch. Prices can be steep for some items, but at least you know they are all ethically produced in America.

Reasonably priced and the staff aren’t full of themselves and are helpful without pestering customers.
