Let’s make this simple and to the point. Great place to pick up any spirits to fulfill your needs. Great staff that’s super friendly and attentive. Being from the states, they helped me promptly and packaged me up good to be on my way.
What else can I say, full selection, easy to navigate around and find what you need. Take my word for it!

It’s not every day you walk into a shop and leave knowing how to navigate Stockholm, yet that’s just what happened this past weekend when I happened to pay Amathus a visit. This is a testament to the friendliness of a salesgirl who was happy to chat about everything. It was refreshing from some stores which just drive straight to the point as if there was a pressing need to get you in and out despite there being nobody else in the store! And her approach definitely paid off as I discovered a new bottle of bourbon (on her recommendation) that has now been added to my collection as well.
Ah but to the point, I was hunting for a very particular bottle of Kentucky rye that is near impossible to get. You’ll have to forgive me for not letting you in on the secret (drop me a message if you really want to know) as it’s for a birthday present. Let’s just say that you can’t find it in stores in the US, so I wasn’t holding out much hope for any turning up in the UK. Yet here it was, along with the entire line, just waiting for someone to come along and ask.
That’s the beauty of Amathus — it’s an unassuming storefront that I walked right passed without noticing on my way to Gerry’s around the corner. Yet it’s stocked with an incredible range of spirits and wines and staffed with very knowledgeable people almost eager to share their thoughts on a particular bottle with you. I could have easily spent hours browsing and asking questions — in fact I’ll likely be back next weekend to do just that. Gerry, I think you’ve got some serious competition in the hood!
