Ordered a lamb burger and it came burned. I sent it back and after 20 minutes i got a completely burned one. I paid and left but will never set a foot there anymore, stay away they have no clue how to make and serve food!

Still feels like a «proper» pub and has a nice beer garden too.

I see nobody has reviewed The Albert in a couple of years. I wasn’t here in 2010 but went today and considering we live less than a mile away I found myself wondering why we don’t come here more often. Family friendly, good food, great staff. Had a great lunch today,

I just don’t like the common Greene King beers I am afraid(their seasonals show they can brew a good pint when they can be bothered to make the effort!). I went for some Abbot. which is usually the best of a bad bunch. I didn’t see the real cider on the other part of the bar until it was too late unfortunately. The venue has nothing to particularly distinguish it for me.

Nice atmosphere, friendly people, this is really a great local. But the food … horrible.

I came here with a friend for a cheeky afternoon pint after a picnic and a walk up nearby Primrose Hill. On a sunny day, out one criterion was a beer garden and this fit the bill perfectly. I don’t know how busy it can get but we were here from about 4 –7.30 pm on a Thursday –it was empty when we arrived and still not that busy when we left. We weren’t inside the actual pub for long but it seemed like a cosy enough place to enjoy a drink. The beer garden is let down a bit by the uninspiring green plastic furniture but is otherwise pleasant and spacious. Service was friendly.

Went for the quiz on a Tuesday night, which was good fun and a nice level of difficulty. The food was very good(sausage and mash was tasty) while the beer was OK. Not much choice of ales, the only thing they had was Greene King Abbot or IPA — GK is from the town I was born in so should like it, but I choose it as a last resort or if it’s the only ale on(they use hop oil in brewing their beer, which gives me a headache, and they aggressively bought up a lot of small fantastic breweries only to shut them down). Nice atmosphere, although the chef was a bit bossy — my brother was arriving in 10 minutes and was starving so I asked if I could order for him and was quite abruptly refused, as if it was the craziest thing he’d ever heard. Average.

This is a pretty laid back pub. What I call a couples and old men pub because that makes up the majority of the crowd. It is a pretty traditional pub, there is a menu, nothing too exciting standard pub fare. The staff have always been decent the times I’ve been in. There is a garden out back if you are looking for a place on a sunny day. Other than that is is an ok pub, but not one I would go out of my way to go to.

Horrible pub, horrible staff — avoid! After waiting over 45mins for our sunday roast a plate full of cold hard veg, stringy meat and burnt yorkshire pudding landed in front of each of us. We gave it a go, but it was so awful we called over the waitress and politely flagged that the meal really wasn’t up to standard. Her reaction was to get the hump, then offer to reheat it again, and when we just asked if we could have our money back as the food really wasn’t edible then tell us that we’d eaten too much(a couple of mouthfuls??) to be able to send it back and refused to give us our money back. Shocked at her bad attitude we asked to speak to the manager — the barmaid yelled at us over the bar that the manager couldn’t be asked to come down and had given her permission to deal with the situation and that we were being rude to her. Way to go to keep customers coming back and happy. I will NEVER visit that establishment ever again and would suggest that if you want a decent meal and nice friendly bar staff this is NOT the place to go.

There are quite a few really nice pubs, bars and restaurants around this area and the Prince Albert is definitely one of them. It’s a good looking building from the outside — a very traditional feel to it and this is continued inside where its all wooden furniture and brass. A decent range of drinks in a pub that is always relatively full but never too busy and never too empty — seems to always be just about right. Food is very good and it has a decent enough range on the menu. Bearing in mind the beer garden out the back is basically a small concrete space, they have done well to make it as welcoming as it is with lots of trees and bushes around the place. However, I seem to remember having a very very long afternoon here and can tell your the wrought iron garden furniture gets a bit uncomfortable after about 5 hours All in — very much worth a visit and a much friendlier place than The Engineer which is just down the road from it.

It gets 3 cos it’s my friend’s fave pub but I really can’t see why. Surly staff, little atmosphere. Plenty of seating though –including outside — and they did have pretty flowers on every table which was a nice touch. They have a pub quiz but only in the winter months which is a shame.

I wasn’t over keen on this place. I think I have a talent for sniffing out Greene King venues before I walk into them, and on seeing Abbott Ale and GKIPA on tap, my worst suspicions were confirmed. The tables had that we’re been cleaned, but we’re not clean look of many a faux-gastro establishment. A shame, cause I think you could make this place really nice. The barmaid was incredibly rude when my girlfriend had a rare moment of hesitation before ordering the usual white wine, despite there being no other customers waiting. Which means just 2 solitary stars

A pub that looks good, serves good food at a fair price, is cosy in winter, and the garden is a veritable suntrap in summer. However, as it gets popular with some nearby offices, the food can take a while if the place gets busy. This is presumably due to a small kitchen rather than any shortcomings by the staff. Good ale(Bombardier, etc).

This pub could easily be missed as it is situated in a lovely, tranquil street away from the hustles of London considering it is so central. The pub has the great advantage of being close to the likes of Regent’s Park, Primrose Hill and the canal and if after a quiet drink you fancy a bit of life, Camden Market isn’t far away. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and has a laid back atmosphere. I would particularly recommend the beer garden tucked away at the back of the pub with a few tables, it is intimate and private and away from any traffic.

The Albert is one of the more unassuming pubs in Primrose Hill and consequently isn’t overcrowded with tiresome types as are its Gloucester Avenue counterparts. It offers decent pub fayre at reasonable prices, especially given its location, and it’s cosy, relaxed atmosphere make it an ideal drinking spot midweek.
