Dennis is an excellent reason to pop into Wanstead. An old fashioned family butcher it offers a superb range of fresh and cooked meats. We have bought everything from here from fillet of beef down to a cooked turkey leg. The cooked range is price friendly and includes roast beef, steak, steak and kidney pies and several hams, gala pies and scotch eggs.
The raw meat selection easily surpasses the supermarkets and often includes game (when in season) eggs and condiments.
The service is friendly and the butchers are knowledgable about their craft. Hygiene is first rate and I have never gone in the shop and been overwhelmed by the smell of slightly off meat.
I defy anyone to buy from this amazing shop and become vegetarian — spoken as a reformed vegetarian.
