Like a lot of people, I’m not a big fan of hospitals or doctors surgeries. Maybe it’s something to do with the smell, or that feeling you get that you’re about to be diagnosed with some kind of life-threatening illness. Either way, it’s just not like how it looks on TV. This surgery in Formby village however has been my local doctors’ surgery for as long as I can remember, even if my visits haven’t been too frequent(thankfully). Despite the sporadic nature of my visits over the years, whenever I have visited I have been met with a friendly, discreet service from doctors that will listen to your problems and give you all the time you need without making you feel rushed. One negative aspect is that you can’t book appointments in advance, which means having to wake up at 8:30 in the morning(I’m a student, I don’t wake up before midday when I can help it) and trying to get through for the next 15 minutes in the hope all the appointments haven’t been taken up. A warning also — they are only open in the morning on Wednesdays so it might be even harder to get an appointment then. Apart from that though, it meets all the requirements I could ask for.
